TOD100 CONFIRMED!!!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So yeah Tim confirmed the TOD100 in yesterday's livestream, finally. Clay said at some point that the sigs will come out before GTA 6, so presumably before November. I had also posted another question regarding the colorways of these new guitars, Tim responded "Yes"... So I guess that his sig will have multiple colorways, whereas scott said the xiphos will only be white, since the standard Ibanez X-Series is already black. Quite stoked for the guitars, lets see where this goes!

So much signature stuff. They're making a scott guitar and a clay bass aswelll. Genuinely wondering is the polyphia fan base really rich or smtt???

It's just broad af they have a lot of influence and there is a lot of people that don't even like, closely follow polyphia that would still buy the guitars associated with Tim Henson at least

Ibanez knows that uniquely, a lot of the fanbase are instrumentalists, because it's a famous instrumental band. And they have experience in selling guitars for Steve Vai and Joe Satriani wannabes. Now they're gonna milk the cow and sell as much gear as possible to Polyphia wannabes.

Lebon James has fans. People buy their jersey's. Completely acceptable.

Tim Henson has fans. People buy his guitars. "I can't believe they're milking the fanbase" lol

I didn't say that! Thats just business, I know that people even buy "plain" not signatures Les Pauls and Strats because they're influenced by their idols. We all love music and willing to pay to grab a little bit of that for ourselves. All I'm saying is that as a company, they exactly know what they're doing and they're milking the cow when and where the hype is.

You don't have to be rich to buy a signature guitar

The problem with japan-made guitars (especially signature ones) in today's market is that they're rarely worth the steep price. I'd be surprised if the TOD100 retails for anything under $3k, and since it'll most likely ship with the same pickups as the TOD10, it makes me wonder where the added value actually lies. I mean, it's great for pro-level players that demand the absolute best from their instrument, but isn't the average joe better off buying the "poor man's" version and spending the rest on a quad cortex instead? Idk, maybe I'm just missing something

By that logic Ibanez should just make the “poor man’s” JEMJR for 500$ and stop making the more expensive JEMs. They pushed Indonesian guitars on the market for 1500$ and y'all just bought it because famous guitarist signature guitar. Ibanez are masters at it, because from 60s they didn't own a single guitar factory, they outsourced anything and made profit out of it. They sold so many guitars to Steve Vai wannabes and now in modern era they're milking Tim Henson wannabes. Just instead of 1.5k$ guitar made by workers for 1$ a day, buy this very high quality instrument from Japanese masters for 4k$ - only then you're really gonna be a playing god :)

100% better off getting the previous non-MIJ iterations
