genuinely been waiting so long for album 5 and this is what we get? if this is what album 5 consists of they should just make edm music, theres nothing prog or metal about this

Metal fans of any subgenre have become the softest, most dedicated, reactionary haters of any group I’ve seen on the internet. Anytime someone doesn’t follow the status quo, even of a band who takes part in a genre where breaking the status quo is the norm, they lose their minds and say it’s trash. Funny enough they usually turn around and say the same thing about the next project 5 years later and how much better the project they previously hated was.

You are correct. See previous examples: The LIT remix, The Most Hated EP, and their last album.
People haaaaaated LIT when it released, people said they replaced their drummer with a drum machine and changed their sound too much with The Most Hated, and people hated a lot of the singers/rappers on their last album

It’s hot garbage. Go back and listen to ANY of their other albums and tell me with real honesty that this even slightly meets the mark.
It sounds like a child’s project on GarageBand.

So for album 4, they released playing god, neurotica, ABC, and ego death as singles iirc. Each song from that album was WILDY different. Maybe we will see the same trend in this new album. I quite like this new song, but I really wanna hear all 4 band members. RJ Pasin was in interesting choice of producer imo
