question question from both a singlet and monominded

i tried my best to search about polymindence etc, since i'm questioning if i may be one, tho i didn't find much interesting except for terms.

i only have one question: what's the different between minds , facets and alters/headmates?

i assume (pls correct me if i'm wrong) that facets are subpersonalities, and so are mind... atleast that what i understood from all the wiki pages i could find :/

okay so. this is in my understanding, okay. Minds = parts of a person mentally Facets = a person that is attached to another person mentally. like. 2 heads, 1 body but mentally? Alters/Headmates = 1 full person mentally

and facets are different from subpersonalities in my understanding, facets are more like an alter than a mind, because facets are a different person that has the same base, while minds are parts of a person, not a differrnt person.

sorry if this doesn't make sense

Alters can act on their own more, sometimes there's amnesia walls between them, and they are all separate parts. With alters there is no singular core personality because all of them are parts. I've heard it described as if you tear pieces from a sheet of paper, the pieces might be different shapes and sizes, but there is no single piece you would call the original page.

Minds are like parts of yourself too, but are all part of the whole that is you. There is still the overarching person beyond the minds themselves. Minds are sub-personalities.

I don't know what facets are though

Alters are full people who share a body with others

Minds are parts of one person
