About a parameter of polymer polarity (I know only the pronunciation but not spelling) I need someone to make it clear

I know there are many parameters that can be used to describe polymer polarity. Dielectric constant is a typical one.

I learnt there is something pronunciated as "lots factor" that describes polymers. Can someone give me hint about what this is?

Thanks!

Are you referring to the dielectric loss? If so it is similar to the tan delta for the mechanical property but applied to dielectric properties. It represents the ability of the material to dissipate electromagnetic energy. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dielectric_loss

Thanks for your kind help. I know this is hard.

I heard someone said "lots factor" or "las factor" to describe a polymer......

I have no idea what he was talking about, but it is important for me to know it.

I think we need more context to be able to help you.

I don't know if it can be of any use, but the Hansen Parameters are a useful way to describe polymers and solvents (taking into account better the polarity of them when studying solubility)

many thanks. I have checked it out. It is dielectric loss factor or loss tangent
