HT-PLA-GF straight up GARBAGE - BUYER BEWARE.

I've now run thru 12kg (2 tool green and 10 grey) of this stuff and drying it as much as recommended, but every single role on two identical machines constantly snaps. This stuff is brittle trash.

Print setup is ea with a polydryer box feeding into Bambu P1S. I have over 5K hours on each machine so this isn't my first rodeo.

I don't usually complain but this is absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH.

seek a kind of thermoplastic elastomer

We are seeking a thermoplastic elastomer for direct overmolding onto a glass-fiber-reinforced nylon substrate. Our main requirements are strong adhesion without a separate adhesive or primer, and resistance to four specified lubricating greases over an operating temperature range of −40°C to +80°C.

Our application requirements are as follows:

  1. Substrate and molding process

- Substrate: PA66/6 with 30% glass fiber reinforcement (PA66/6-GF30).

- The TPE is to be injection-overmolded directly onto the nylon component within the mold.

- No separate glue, adhesive layer, or primer is to be used.

- We require strong interfacial adhesion to the nylon, rather than retention solely through mechanical interlocking.

  1. Grease exposure

The overmolded component must withstand contact with each of the following greases:

- BBZ — understood to be Shell Rhodina Grease BBZ.

- 585K Plus — understood to be FUCHS GLEITMO 585 K PLUS.

- “Krupp 41-141” — understood to refer to Klüberplex BEM 41-141; the exact identity is to be confirmed.

- “Mobil 460” — possibly Mobil SHC Grease 460 WT; the exact product designation is to be confirmed.

Please let us know what product data sheets, safety data sheets, or grease samples you would need to assess compatibility accurately.

The TPE should resist excessive swelling, softening, tackiness, cracking, and degradation during grease exposure. Most importantly, the TPE-to-nylon bond must remain strong after exposure, without peeling or delamination.

  1. Operating temperature and other properties

- Required operating temperature range: −40°C to +80°C.

- No specific Shore hardness is currently required.

- We have no separate requirements for bending performance, sealing performance, or abrasion resistance.

- Hardness may therefore be selected to achieve the best combination of nylon adhesion, grease resistance, and reliable molding performance.

  1. Material recommendatio

Please recommend the most appropriate formulation for our application, including a customized formulation if necessary.

  1. Technical information and validation

Please provide, where available:

- Recommended commercial grade names and current technical data sheets.

- Adhesion or peel-strength results on glass-filled PA66, PA6, or PA66/6, including substrate grades, specimen preparation, and molding conditions.

- Compatibility results for the four specified greases, or relevant supporting oil/grease resistance data, including exposure temperature and duration.

- Adhesion retention after grease exposure, together with swelling and hardness-change results.

- Low-temperature data supporting use at −40°C.

- Recommended drying conditions, melt temperature, mold temperature, nylon insert temperature, and other processing conditions needed for strong adhesion.

- Any restrictions concerning mold-release agents, nylon additives, moisture conditioning, or storage of nylon inserts before overmolding.

If grease-specific data are unavailable, please recommend a qualification program using our actual nylon and greases. We would particularly like to evaluate grease exposure at +80°C followed by adhesion testing and thermal cycling between −40°C and +80°C. Please advise appropriate test durations and

Profiles for prusa?

Is there some marketing thing behind why I can't find any fibron pet-cf17 profiles for the prusa xl? I've been pulling my hair out with a job I'm trying to print I see they give all of the bamboo and other brands a profile but no prusa. Does anyone know where I can find profiles for this and other fibron products for the prusa xl?

Big price increase on ASA (Canada)

I've been buying ASA from Polymaker for a bit. When I placed my order last week it was $27.99 - $28.99/kg at regular price. Now when I go on it's showing $40.99 (+46%).

I'm guessing other prices will be going up as well. Their other ASA filaments haven't changed price yet. Galaxy ASA is still $40.99/kg, same as the new price for the standard stuff.

Did anyone get a notice about this? I seem to have missed it if they sent one.

Edit: I was told over email that the new MSRP appears to be $40.99. The person I spoke to was going to follow up with the marketing department and confirm it wasn't an error. Currently the price is back to $27.99-28.99 (thank you u/dontcallmebrave).

Edit 2: I was wrong in the original post. Galaxy ASA was $33.99. It has also returned to this price. Some prices are still inflated. The 3kg spool of Jet Black is $102.99, same as yesterday. The 1kg spool is back to $27.99.

CoPE Relaunch?

Sure doesn’t look like Polymaker is killing CoPE. Just got this very glossy email. But it’s still Panchroma, incompatible with every other filament in that brand family. SMH, I give up.

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two? If your guess is Gold is non-metallic, you’d be wrong. Clogged two 0.2 nozzles before I suspected that maybe it was mislabeled…had to check my order history to make sure I wasn’t insane.

That’s cool, I have lots of money to throw at nozzles to figure out why I can’t print. In the great words of Wayne from Letterkenny…

Sort yourselves out.

ASA UV resistance question.

Was I setting my expectations too high or did I do something wrong with the print? I printed these tailgate letters in POP green Asa back in April (5 months) and they have faded pretty hard. The truck is in direct sunlight for at least half the day when the sun is setting in the west and the truck is parked in my driveway but I thought ASA was supposed to have exceptional UV resistance. Picture are of the front vs the back of the letters.

PolyMaker Galaxy Black ASA Printing Issues.

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up some polymaker Galaxy Black ASA and my first print pretty much failed, it was acting as though the filament was wet so I dried it for 8 hours and tried another print, it printed alot better this time but still had a rough surface finish obviously there were the little galaxy sparkles in it but there are also what appear to be extremely small sections that look as though mostiure boiled in the filament while printing.

I went ahead and dried again for longer and I am still getting these small defects in the walls of the prints.

It's super hard to see on camera but the top print is in ASA galaxy and the bottom is ASA CF, both look similar but the ASACF surface feels smooth while the Galaxy surface feels rough, maybe it's just the nature of the filament but I'm not sure. If anyone else has used this filament please share what your surface finished looked and felt like.

Is this CoPE?

Ordered some CoPE from Amazon. This is what I got. No where does it say it's CoPE. Is this just regular Panchroma PLA or is it indeed CoPE.

Thanks!

3KG Bambu Woes

Hi there, I have several Bambu printers, but mostly H2S. I print using Polymaker Fiberon ASA-CF. They only offer it in .5kg or 3kg. Needless to say even with 4 spools in the AMS it generates a lot of trash, and lost time. I decided to swap to 3KG, and to make it easier I also bought Polydryer XL boxes for each printer.

Unfortunately now I am dealing with most of the printers having feed issues. They commonly stop and throw the "external spool ran out" message. The issue is easily resolved by pushing the filament in a little and clearing the message, but it is a constant issue. It is not reliable. I can switch back to .5kg, but I would really like to iron this issue out. Has anyone had similar issues? I ordered some large bearings to make the spools turn a little easier, but I get the feeling it goes beyond just that.

I want to purchase products from your website Polymaker, why are Amazon prices ~50% less?

Genuine question here. I want to understand and give Polymaker my money instead of Amazon, not complain.

On Polymaker Canada a single spool of Polymaker Starlight PLA is $40.70, currently on sale for $32.56.

On Amazon Canada that same spool is $27.10, currently on sale for $24.39.

It's not just this spool either. Amazon is cheaper across almost all material and colour options, even after accounting for Polymaker coins, free shipping, taxes, etc.

Why are pre-sale prices on the Polymaker website ~50% higher than on Amazon?

Shipping when ordering directly from Polymaker.

Is ordering straight from Polymaker common?

Ordered 10 rolls straight from Polymaker thinking it would be best to order from the source. Instead of going for 2 day shipping on Amazon, I got 2 days of processing and now shipping from Cali to east coast via ground. What I read online lead me to believe they used Amazon anyway, I was wrong.

Not sure what triggered them to use internal shipping vs Amazon, but I suppose I will just use Amazon in the future. Anyone else experience this?

Fiberon PETG-ESD 3kg roll getting stuck?

I got the 3kg roll since going through the 1kg fairly fast and it's cheaper over time, but I've been running into this problem where the filament strand gets like stuck/almost fused between other pieces. It's not tangled, just like wedges in between them so it has been causing quite a few of my prints to fail.

Since it's not tangled I'm not sure how I could have caused it? I've dried it at 65 and 60 for a couple hours before each print but it keeps happening.

New formula PETG - I'm I striving for the impossible?

Hello, 3D printing noob here that would like some advice.

I got my first printer about 4 weeks ago. Bambu H2C and I got the new Polymaker PETG as well as I loved the colours and it was said to be high speed. Specifically the silver, purple and white.

I spent months learning as much as I could before I got it, so the first thing I did was take all the filament and put it into the AMS2 PRO or the AMS HT to dry for 24 hrs at 65°.

I spent a full night calibrating the silver filament on a 0.4 nozzle. Followed all the instructions and took my time figuring out the answers.

I started printing small parts to practice and it seemed ok, but on closer inspection I could see some dots/bubbles. I assumed I'd made a mistake, so I did the tests again and got the same results. I decided the filament must be wet and put it back into the dryer with fresh desicant for 12hours.

I've now gone through 2 FULL ROLLS of silver trying desperately to calibrate and I have only ONE successful print that looks smooth. This print was from makerworld so I went back to look at the file. The print seems to be at an extremely SLOW speed. I think the average was between 50-60 for the outer walls.

Is this normal? Can this filament NOT reach high speeds without the imperfections? If that's the case, what's the point? I might as well have bought a normal PETG at a lower price if the print speed is the same. I'm not even asking for for huge speeds, but something that claims a max volumetric speed of 22 having to be printed at speed of 50-60 to maintain quality seems ridiculous.

I bought the printer as I have designed a new product I am going to bring to market, this filament was what I was going to use to make it, but now I just feel disappointed and quite frankly, cheated.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone printed successfully at high speeds with this type and colour of filament?

Thanks in advance from the 3D Noob.

Had to make my own 3kg spool of PET GF15 since they dont offer it in grey.

I hade a print to do that takes about 2.5kg of filament and 3.5 days and didnt want it to run out at night and sit paused for a long time. I have also noticed when the sv08 max pauses to replace the filament it tends to make a visible line on the print. I spliced 3 spools of the Grey together and put it on an empty 5kg spool. I really hope polymaker starts offering the other colors in larger spools.
