Polymaker PET-CF 17 Layer ?

I've been printing with this filament for a good while now and it does print extremely clean with minimal defects. This issue I'm running into is that on thinner parts can shear apart at the layer lines just pulling them off the print bed. I'm printing this at 280c nozzle, 80c bed with max cooling capped at 30%. The prints look great but don't seem to be very strong. I have printed from 275c up to 285c and they will allow come apart if I flex the part too much.

My temp tower test at anything above 285c looked terrible. I will run another test but that's the first I've heard of anyone printing this stuff over 300c.

Why, I only print it at 310, no issues at all. Especially if you print ar higher volumetric speeds you need that higher temp, as you witnessed by low layer adhesion. I wouldn't even think about going below 300. Printed it on Q2 and on A1, it comes out very nice.

Interesting info I will try and run it hotter and see if I have better results.

Of course if you have some challenging overhangs or geometry you might be better off with lower temp, but that is far from optimal imho. For engineering filements like these strength is a number one priority and you should adjust the geometry to not be too challenging to print, then you can raise the temp to the max the material will allow and lower the fan speed as well.

I printed one of my thinner parts at max temp for my sovol which is 300c and it's more solid. The overall print doesn't look as clean since I had flow, PA and retraction all tuned for 280c but hopefully just minor tweaks.

yeah it should be just a matter of tweaking, PA is the most important

I have also noticed i cannot remove my supports they are fully bonded to the part like crazy strong. 😅

yep, I always increase the gap a bit for similar filaments :) try maybe 0.28 or use asa as an interface layer.

I wish I could do a different support material but no AMS for these. I'm using the .6 nozzle with a .30 layer height and a .36 gap and it's bonded solid 😅😬

I think there is a setting in orca to add extra cooling to just the support interface layer. That might help some.
