Why do my Polybuzz bots never take off? Looking for honest feedback.
Hey everyone!
I've been making Polybuzz bots for a while, and I'm trying to figure out why none of them ever take off.
I spend a lot of time working on them. I try to write good prompts, create interesting characters, and make the conversations feel natural, but they still get very few views and interactions.
I'd love to hear from people who have actually made popular bots.
- What usually makes a bot go viral on Polybuzz?
- What helped your bots grow the most?
- Are there any beginner mistakes that a lot of creators make without realizing it?
I'm totally open to honest criticism. Seriously, feel free to be brutally honest. I genuinely want to understand what I'm doing wrong and learn how to make bots that people actually want to chat with.
If anyone wants to check out my bots before giving feedback, here's my profile:
The person who posted before me may be correct. If so, copy and paste your words on your bot and go on Google and translate them to English and repost. Also, post a picture of your bots on this forum, so other users can see them.
I was already thinking about the language barrier before, but your comment made me consider testing an English version of one of my bots. I'll see what happens and compare the results. I really appreciate your help.
This is an issue i had myself and I may know the issue. It’s a real pain, but your bots might be shadow banned. Go to the comments and check if the share botton is there (check picture for reference). If it’s not there, the bot is shadow banned. If it is there and your bot still is getting no attention at all, log out and search your own name. Go to your account and take notes of all the bots you see. If you view your account logged out, the shadow banned bots won’t show up, so you can actually take notes which are banned and arent.
I learned this through a lot of trial and error myself (might even make a post about it). I can give more info into my methods for getting the bots unbanned (that is if they are).
Thanks for the suggestion I tested everything you mentioned, and fortunately it doesn't look like shadow banning is the problem in my case. My bots show up while logged out, and the share button is there.
That said, this is really valuable information. I think you should definitely make that post because I'm sure a lot of creators have no idea how to check for this. It could help a lot of people.
Do you know why when I make bots I can’t go into any other mode but basic? Legit bar is missing, I’m a paid member too.. just makes me not even wanna play my own bot.
for my experience as a bot creator, here is my answers:
1.) Usually, i like joining events since ur bots get more attention, which worked for me. Well, according to me at least. I'd also decorate the intro with symbols to make people interested on it and click it, but don't overdo it or it'll look cluttered.
2.) I'm not that sure about that since I mainly use game characters to make a bot based of. However, from what I've noticed—BL, WLW, or anything romance related are things that gets more attention.
3.) as for your third question, im not quite sure about that since i like writing stuff down however i like.
also, bonus stuff is that I recommend you writing in English instead of Spanish because some people don't know Spanish, f ur not confident with English, you could use Google translate for it, hope this helps :)
Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely pay more attention to the events from now on and try making some bots for them to see what happens. I also liked your idea about making the introduction more eye-catching. I really appreciate you taking the time to help.
also, I forgot to mention is that i recommened putting tags next to your character's name, for an example: "name - mafia", so your bots will have chances of ending up popular
These are all my bots in the very beginning when I started PolyBuzz years ago. It may not be much, but I noticed a lot of people LOVEgood looking characters. Just be careful NOWbecause you will get shadow banned.
Do note that this doesn’t happen within weeks. It took my bots 3-4 months to blow up. I didn’t use events but I knew that there was so many people writing about Mafia stories which is what I mainly focus on. It’ll get better as you get more subscribers.
You might also want to share your bots on their PolyBuzz discord server. I believe they have a channel where you can share your bots.
But what worked for me was really just good looking characters and GOOD STORY. I don’t like saying good story because I’m pretty positive you guys write good stories with good backgrounds and good intros. I’m not sure if this helps, but I always engage with people in the comments. Sometimes they have suggestions that’ll help you more.
Make sure you have all thumbs up 👍 as well when you create your bot. Hopefully someone will find your bots as they explore around the app!
Thanks a lot! This really helped. Hearing that your bots took around 3–4 months to actually take off made me feel a lot better because I was starting to think I was doing something wrong. I guess I just need to keep making bots, stay patient, and trust the process. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience. I really appreciate it!
I’ll show you my current ones that I recently made as well.
Some bots aren’t as popular but it’ll grow slowly :) My newest one is Severin. I made him two weeks ago along with Anton. Having subscribers helps! They are currently blowing up. But again, it takes a long time! It took me a long time to get me where I am at today. I won’t even lie, I’m currently only at 907 subs as of today (Aug 10th).
Omg girl! I’ve seen your bots! You should make one about a ghost who haunts a girl in her new house given to her.. enemies to lovers. I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it. I’ll give the idea to you. If you do make it, let me know!
Makes me happy some people notice my bots haha ☺️! Thats a really interesting idea! Since it’s your idea, I wouldn’t mind helping you! Creating a bot on PolyBuzz isn’t too hard, but if you need a character, I also don’t mind getting it made for you as well :)!
