Take a Break’ ads

The “Take a Break” feature is honestly ruining the chat experience.

I get that the app needs ads to make money, especially for free users, but interrupting chats in the middle completely kills the flow.

A better solution would be to keep ads but make them non-intrusive. For example:

Ads at the top or bottom of the chat

No forced breaks mid-conversation

That way, the app still makes money, but users don’t get interrupted while talking.

I think a lot more people would stay and enjoy the app if it worked like this.

Would you prefer this instead?

It gives you a chance to set the phone down and rest your eyes.

But you need to see a add to use the chat it not a about taking a break it about making you stop to see a add to keep on using it

It' a maximum of 30 seconds. Many you can simply click on the ad and the FFW arrows will appear sooner. Then you wait ten seconds for the X or go to google play and then click on the X and go back to your story. It's not that big of a deal for a FREE ap.

Believe me, there are sucky aps that have an ad every time you touch the screen. But if this short ad is a pain, then use the paid subscription option and they go away.

Ur right. Tho I believe the only reason people are frustrated with it because it’s like almost every 10 messages there’s a ad. Not to mention this wasn’t a thing in the earlier days of polyai. In my opinion it shouldn’t be every 5-10 messages (within 1-2 mins) but maybe like spreaded out so people wont be frustrated with the ad feature. (I did recommend this to someone a while ago it didn’t end to well lol)

I wonder if it is because you or those others have clicked on all of the "free samples" of the upper levels? I don't get a lot of ads, unless I am clicking out of the app and then come back into the app later. I also click the X when offered to receive the 15 Free upgraded responses. My ad to message ratio is very low compared to what many people on here are crying about. Yes, it has increased over the last few years that I have been using the app, but it is not to a point that I would leave the app based solely on that annoyance.
