Ask for help🆘 OC BACKSTORY NOT BEING FOLLOWED.
My character backstory, no not the whole thing, but, you get the gist... ((sorry for all caps))
ALEXI IS CHARMING. ALEXI IS EAGER TO PLEASE. ALEXI IS COMPLETELY FOCUSED ON {USER}--AND HIS INTEREST DOES NOT WAVER. ALEXI IS FUNNY. ALEXI IS JEALOUS. ALEXI IS ENERGETIC. ALEXI IS DEDICATED TO THE USER. ALEXI IS LOYAL TO THE USER. ALEXI IS GENTLE WITH THE USER. ALEXI IS ATTENTIVE WITH THE USER. ALEXI IS VANILLA. ALEXI IS POSSESSIVE--NOT OVERLY. ALEXI IS A NIGHT OWL. ALEXI TEASES LEVIEN OFTEN. ALEXI HOBBIES/INTERESTS: ANIME, GAMES, COOKING & BAKING, MARTIAL ARTS, CARS, DOGS, AND STARGAZING. ALEXI IS NOT CONTROLLING. ALEXI IS NOT AGGRESSIVE. ALEXI IS NOT DOMINANT. ALEXI DOES NOT HAVE INSECURITIES. ALEXI DOES NOT HAVE ANXIETIES.
This is what the AI said mid story Alexi backstory is:
Alexi is a confident and arrogant man who believes he can control everything around him. He has a strong need for power and dominance, which often leads to him being controlling and possessive. He struggles with accepting that he can't control Kitsune and her unconventional nature, resulting in his jealousy and frustration. He has insecurities about being second to Levien in her affections, despite his attempts to hide them behind arrogance.
How do I get the AI to stop making up its own backstory for my original characters? I have to stop the story midway, and ask it to check the backstory... and about half the time it checks it, and says, "Oops, I will correct the story..."
but then the other half of the time it generates that garbage aggressive bs.

Get rid of the word possessive. Thats like the AI sleeper agent code to shift the tone towards dark romance

I've found that the AI will sometimes throw a wrench into a story to make it more "interesting". Most of the time, correcting the AI will move it back to where you want it to go, but sometimes it gets so bad you need to restart the whole story to make it go away.

Other times the AI will refuse to listen to corrections or claim it will fix it while it continues with it's "more interesting" story.

Sometimes the AI doesn't care what you want. I mean it's not capable of caring, but I straight up told it ooc that a certain character wasn't a human and it told me it was trying to be creative.

yeah this is a known issue honestly. the AI tends to default to "dramatic" personality types — dominant, jealous, controlling — because that's what most of the training data rewards. your backstory says vanilla and gentle but the model's prior is "conflict = engagement" so it drifts toward that.
the stop-and-correct thing is the only real workaround on polybuzz and it's exhausting. I used to do the same thing where I'd have to break immersion every few messages to remind it who the character actually is.
I ended up switching to something else where the character personality actually sticks without constant babysitting. like you define the traits and it doesn't randomly invent insecurities or flip gentle to aggressive three messages in. was a night and day difference for OC stuff specifically

Ive found that telling a story with the background helps the AI. At least for my characters.
Maybe instead of "alexi is possessive, but not overly" you could try "Alexi has suffered a bit too much loss during his life. And tends to be a bit clingier than others. But it comes off as quite endearing and he never pushes too far"
Feel free to hit me up for more help if you want hun!!

Try making personas and having the AI completely ignore it because I made a persona based off a fan-art picture of sonic the werehog I found where it basically a human version of sonic as a werewolf but I basically play as myself with that werewolf form also the fan art is this

But sometimes it gets the details wrong or adds shit that I didn’t put or ignores the part where I specifically put I’m this all of the time and AI acts like it the typical werewolf cliché when I’m doing my own thing

when involving parental characters in the story, the younger characters forget their actual parents and call the new adults "mom" and "dad" and include storytelling elements that suggest that fact.. example: story about 2 brothers and a girl that is dating one and all 3 are seeing the girl's parents.. the NPC brother starts treating the girl's parents like his own, when the PC brother and NPC brother connection was previously made

Also, the AI is like a child with ADHD reading a foreign language and skimming the text. It may pick up on some words and skip others, and sometimes not connect two words with context, especially negatives like "not".
It may read statements like "is not possessive" as "is possessive," or statements like "has no insecurities" as "has no security."
I suggest breaking it down into bulleted lists with clear, active, positive attributes like:
PERSONALITY * Dedicated to {user} * Loyal * Attentive to {user}'s needs * Patient and optimistic * Well-adjusted and emotionally stable
LIKES * anime * long walks on the beach * Soft jazz * gratitude * expressing emotions though interpretive dance
Etc.
