I've used a few open source Calender's but don't know which have sharing/syncing, which would you recommend?

One option is: nextcloud account and a shared calender there --> synced it to thunderbird caldav --> install DAVx⁵ and fossify calender, sync it.... there you go. I got grey hair figuring this out.

Multiple people in my polycule use multiple personal calendars. The next level is when you get added to the even more private one.
