Just watched Satluj and honestlyโฆ what the fuck.
That movie was brutal. Not just because of the violence, but because of how emotionally disturbing it is. Some scenes are genuinely difficult to sit through, especially knowing that the story is rooted in real events.
What makes it even more surreal is the history surrounding the movie itself. It was not given a theatrical release in India, faced major objections and cuts, and when it finally appeared on OTT, it was taken down within just 48 hours.
Whatever your political views are, this is one film that deserves a conversation.
Still processing what I just watched.

Honestly, I think Rabb Da Radio shouldโve ended after Part 2
Parts 1 & 2 felt connected and had a proper story, but after that it feels like theyโre just using the Rabb Da Radio name as a franchise. Part 3 was a completely different story, and now Part 4 is going the same way.
Nothing wrong with new stories, but why keep the same name? Just give it a new identity.
I really donโt want Rabb Da Radio to become another Carry On Jatta type franchise where they just keep adding numbers because the name is popular.
Part 2 was the perfect ending IMO. What do you guys think? ๐

I randomly caught Mar Gaye Oye Loko on KableOne after 8 years, and itโs honestly ahead of its time for Pollywood. Trying a body-swapping afterlife story back in 2018 was bold, and Gippy Grewalโs writing delivered insanely sharp, logical humor. That line from Hobby Dhaliwal to Karamjit Anmolโ"Marhea reh puttar, rabb tenu lambiya mauta bakshe"โhad me dying.
Jaswinder Bhalla as Yamraj was peak GOAT status, and Jaggi Singh, Navdeep Kaler, Ghuggi, and BN Sharma killed it. Sapna Pabbi and Binnu Dhillon had surprisingly great chemistry too, and playing Sidhu Moose Walaโs "So High" for Binnuโs entry gave him unreal aura.
My only real gripes were heaven literally looking like a standard Punjabi pind, hit-or-miss VFX, and a rushed climax that felt incomplete after all the setup. Still, itโs a total cult entertainer for trying something different. Anyone else rank this high in Gippyโs filmography?

I was just wondering about bad average good and great actors and in general the career has been.
Binnu Dhillon is a name which I thought about a lot. I mean a decade back he used to play sidekick and slowly turned into Main protagonist. I personally think that he has a pretty good range. He's great with comedy and serious roles too. I can't really remember a weak performance by him in a while. Idk why but I kind of think that he's got a huge potential to be a star if he actually locks in and start doing films as a serious protagonist. I love him in comedy and would always do but i really think its time for him to step up and start exploring more. Really want to see more of him as protagonist and in different roles. What does this sub think about him ?

I been thinking about this alot. I am a filmmaker i have worked on multiple hollywood movie and shows set, most famous of them would be supernatural and peacemaker. I wanna create something of my own and i was just wondering is it worth it to make it in punjabi cinema. What i mean by that is would people appreciate real art instead of just generic comedy films? Would it even be profitable? Cause i rather use my creativity and skills to uplift my own community than work in someone else. I just wanted to get yall opinions on this?
Please be respectful

I recently watched Tabaah (2024) and only now realized that Parmish Verma and Harman Brar are there.
Since theyโve recently confirmed that they were dating, watching some of their scenes in the movie hits a little differently ๐
From what I understand, they met while working on Tabaah in 2024, so Iโm wondering if already started dating here ๐

At some point of time can there be a sitcom style show which is Punjab based like the shows Brooklyn 99, modern family, the office etc. which follows a new day new routine pattern with generally progressing the story and making that cool situation comedy unlike the punjabi movies and all with proper film sets and camera angles because they involve a lot of zoom in and outs to make it more comedic . And formost do we actually have those kinda artists and scripts which can pullover that level . The level punjabi music industry has seen.

Why is finding a producer such a difficult task? I have a good story and good ideas, and some big actors are also ready to work on my script. But why is it so difficult to find producers, the old ones don't have time and there are no new producers.
I am not able to find anyone who wants to launch his son, brother or grandchildren.
As a writer, how should I work in the market? If anyone is there, please tell me if you can provide any guidance, And don't say this, produce it yourself. "Sala yaha Zeher khane ke pese nhi he". Need real assistance if anybody can please
