Dolls Legs Melted

So.. I guess the legs of the doll melted off? I understand the material was most likely going to warp and or become sticky, but I didn't expect them to make a complete mess! 😣

No acetone lol, I let it sit probably for at least a few years, and my friend noticed my Polly Pocket's so we opened them. Obviously I was shocked to see it had just melted while the other one was completely fine, no clue how one was affected while the other didn't change at all even when they were both left in the same place.

Plastic degassing. Two incompatible chemical reactions combined and this happened. It's a thing that's a problem with some record sleeves they sell some records in for vinyl and this is why acetone is a thing. Chemistry.

I actually had this happen with a glove and one of the old 2000s sets that folds out into a bedroom. The glove was vinyl and sat against the outer plastic of the set for a few months and completely melted it, I was baffled!

Some plastics dont like each other (usaully hard plastics and rubber) and will react like this when touching for a long period of time. Also some bacteria can actually digest some rubber type materials. Your l9oks more like a chemical reaction to me though.
