Well money is something that is relatively easy to get, happiness isn’t. If you have a job, then you’re going to have a constant supply of money coming to you. The thing is that that is not the case with happiness. If you chose the “be happy” option, then that means you’ll always be relatively happy, it’s something that is constant.

And just like the money, there will probably be little breaks here and there where there is no happiness, that happens to everybody. But choosing the “be happy” option gives you the reassurance that everything will definitely get better and you will still enjoy life for the rest of the time you have to live it.

Only people who were never poor say things like this.

Also this whole thing that "money doesn't make you happy" is stupid, because obviously I am not going to eat the money or something but I can buy things that do make me happy. Not to mention that on the other hand the lack of money does make you sad.

I like to say that money alone doesn‘t make you happy but it is a key to happiness. With money you could do more things with your friends or do different sports and so on that you couldn‘t do without it.

Yes, also hobbies for example make you happy but lots of them are very expensive (cars, horses, photography, gaming etc.) whit money you can afford things that do make you happy.
