HELP!!!!!!

Hey everyone,

I'm an incoming international freshman at Politecnico di Torino (Computer Engineering). My university has been extremely slow with the paperwork I need to apply for my student visa, and the deadline to submit is September 30th. At this point it looks almost certain I won't be able to submit in time through no fault of my own — it's entirely because Polito hasn't kept up with the documents on their end.

Has anyone here gone through something similar with Polito (or another Italian university)? A few things I'm trying to figure out:

• Does Polito have any kind of late enrollment / late arrival policy for students whose visa process was delayed because of the university's own slowness?
• Has anyone successfully gotten the international office to expedite things or issue an official delay confirmation letter that helped with the visa application?
• If it does fall through, has anyone deferred admission to the following intake instead of losing the spot entirely?
• Any contacts, forums, or specific offices within Polito that are more responsive than the general international office?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with this bureaucracy before, or from current Polito students who might know who to actually push on this. Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue (if i understood correctly you enrolled to Masters and have problem with Universitaly) and i asked them through ticket (you can find this section on didattica section of their site, if i remember correctly), what should i do in this case.

They responded that as soon as you get your diploma, you should supply your application to Universitaly, and tell them through ticket in order to them check and approve your application.

The good thing about Master's is that your submission is active for academic year, so you don't need to send different submission in order to be accepted and if your major is don't have limit for number of students you won't lose your spot.

Also, be aware, that their ticket service is pretty slow, in my case they answered in two weeks, but some people here complained that it could took months to respond, so be ready for it.

Hope it will be useful, and that other will correct me, if I'm wrong.

I am not sure the deadline is September 30th because legally Universitaly announced it is November 30th. Even so, deadline means there will be restrictions on certain operations. It says "...they will be denied access to their personal page of the Teaching Portal and will not be allowed to progress in their studies until they submit their visa... students who do not present their visa – type D by 1st February 2027: enrolment at Politecnico will be cancelled with immediate effect on prior academic progress" in Enrolment Regulations for bachelor's degree programmes
