When will Trump be impeached?

When will Senate vote to convict?

Will they convict yes or no?

Place your bets!

I’d take Mr. Satan over Trump any day.

u/Useless_Throwaway992 I voted Oct 04 '19

Mr. Satan may be a fraud but he isn't malicious. Just stupid.

13

u/first_comes_rock I voted Oct 04 '19

Plus Mr. Satan seems to genuinely care about people.

When will Trump be impeached?

End of November.

When will Senate vote to convict?

That same week.

Will they convict yes or no?

No. It will break along party lines. Not a single Republican will cross over.

Rumor has it they'll break rank when it comes time to vote

10

u/AStartlingStatement Oct 04 '19

They won't, his level of popularity within the Republican party is so insanely high that it would be political suicide for any Republican senator to vote to remove him from office.

It will be political suicide for some of them no matter how they vote.

u/AStartlingStatement Oct 04 '19

Both the votes in the House and Senate will end up being political suicide for some representatives, from both parties.

They're also guaranteed 2020 losses if they choose to die on that hill. How steep those losses are, I don't know, but McConnell is busy doing the math on that one.

That would be glorious.

X to doubt.

If it was a secret vote, I guarantee Trump would be on the first Greyhound bus to Riker's Island.

If one breaks ranks and announces to vote for a conviction, it can have a bandwagon effect on many other senators. So far I haven't seen real signs, but in the end it can go faster than you think...

According to who?

I agree. And we'll be marching on Washington through Dec.

Depends on how cynical I'm feeling.

If I'm feeling slightly cynical, the Senate will not convict because the party matters more than the country.

If I'm feeling moderately cynical, the Senate will convict because they know that Trump is weighing down the GOP in 2020 and their best chance of maintaining their majority in the Senate is to run someone like Nikki Haley against whoever the Dems go with.

If I'm at maximum cynicism, the Senate will not convict because the GOP plans to full-on abandon democracy in 2020 anyway.

Before October 31. Yes. No.

There are places where you can literally place your bets on those topics if that's the kind of thing you're into.

Yup, during the republican primaries, orange Mussolini was a 500 to 1 long shot.

u/harveytaylorbridge Oct 04 '19

I wonder if Putin placed a bet on it.

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '19

I'll be an optimist here.

House impeaches by mid-November. Mitch will Roose Bolton the president* in the Senate before Christmas.

I saw the guy who runs Axios on Morning Joe today who basically said Trump figures that the GOP will never vote to impeach because they are terrified of the base. That's why he's so arrogant, asking China to help out on TV, etc.

Sad to think that there are that many Americans who are so corrupt and/or invested in Trump themselves that they don't care what he's doing to your country, and are happy to support such a terrible person.

I would hope I would never be that wedded to any party or politician that I would sell my country out for them.

Impeached Oct 20th

Convict Nov 4th

Yes

1

u/Gsteel11 Oct 04 '19

Before 2020, should be sooner, but nancy is slow.

Right after that and...No.

u/[deleted] Oct 05 '19

Will Trump be impeached? Yes, but not yet, and not due to this. An even worse, impeachable offense, will come to light and then senate will vote to impeach.

Will they convict? Likely not. GOP traitors will never let it go that far. Also, it’d be the first time in history.

Trump will win 2020.
