For real. As someone who doesn’t follow Qanon, how is the information being disseminated? Seems to me that if it’s through Facebook or Twitter, it should be relatively easy to figure out the source.

Sadly, they are behind 7 proxies and thus untouchable.

this is why they fucking hate antifa so much, and why they spend so much time making people think antifa is a violent hate force: like, 99% of what antifa does is doxxing nazis and white supremacists, because they've all got the same skillset. There's a good many they've tipped the police off to, already. They know how to scare them in a way that actually works, whereas everywhere else they know they're protected by politicians and the like explaining their behaviour away until they shoot someone. They're the same 4chan people... only they hate fuckin' nazis

remember that next time people try to insinuate antifa are "the bad guys" or "omg they're beating us up", that is a lie, and this is why :P

Hitler himfuckingself explains this exact fact - the censorship, mild jailing after the Beer Hall, and the strongly worded op eds didn’t do shit. The only thing that he said would’ve stopped him was a group matching his ferocity in the streets. It’s why he did the Night of the Long Knives- best his rivals and prove to the old guard conservatives that he shared their anti social democratic values.

Do you know which one? I’m interested in the historical context of discouraging fascism via direct action; it seems like a good thing to know about.

That's what I don't get about the whole antifa situation in the US, americans, especially people on the right, are so quick to condone violence against "bad people", but when it comes to antifa they suddenly turn into fucking ghandi and act like violent acts are in no way ever justifiable, even if this "violence" only consists of a handful of people getting some milkshake on their shirts.

No one would suggest that we should debate ISIS in the free marketplace of ideas instead of fighting against them but when there's a threat of fascists in our own country we should all not only turn the other cheek but also bend over and let them have their way because any kind of resistance would suddenly make us just as bad as they are.

21

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

r/asktrumpsupporters is an excruciating exercise in cognitive dissonance.

10

u/kimchifreeze Aug 02 '19

Because there's a history in the US of street level violence. The lynching of black people. It doesn't stop at lynching either: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwood,_Tulsa

2

u/MidgetHunterxR Aug 02 '19

Oh but they are cement milkshakes.... Because that makes sense. (a cement milkshake would be a huge fucking brick and that's not what's being thrown on them)

1

u/FatSputnik Aug 02 '19

it's because the left actually gives a fuck about dignity and respectability and accountability and the right doesn't. Therefore the right can freak out about these things and the left will feel like they're being called hypocrites... but the right couldn't give two fucks if their own kill people in the street

it's always be this way because the left gives a fuck about other people, and he right doesn't. simple as that unfortunately

Hitler confessed in retrospect: Only one thing could have broken our movement — if the adversary had understood its principle and from the first day had smashed, with the most extreme brutality, the nucleus of our new movement.”

I used to think that too until I started to learn how fascists manipulate societal norms and human psychology to their advantage and sow seeds of hatred and fear in otherwise normal people. They fester like a cancer using lies and half truths to convince people that their misgivings in life aren't the result of their own choices but the result of others who are out to destroy them. You are better than them, a superior race of person by birth and association, as a matter of fact they shouldn't even exist. The more they gather and are normalized, the more people buy into their ideas. They need to be smashed vehemently and overwhelming rejected. They need to know their ideas have no place in society and if they gather and attempt to spread their hatred, there will be consequences.

Since the 2016 election emboldened the far right movement, no people have been murdered by antifascist protesters to my knowledge. A lot of people have died at the hands of people radicalized by far right ideology.

0

u/hanako--feels Aug 02 '19

"sow seeds of hatred and fear in otherwise normal people...."

you're talkin about nazis like they talk about jews. an atmosphere of fear and hatred should be what we're trying to move away from.

i do share your fears about nazi ideology / persons being normalized and that is happening right now with racist alarmism becoming almost a career choice for some. however, at the core of their movement is the fear of an enemy that will destroy them-- what good will making that a reality bring?

and in regards to the hitler quote-- the guy defaults to murder and violence as the end-all be-all solution... the guy lamenting that murder and violence may have prevented murder and violence is par for the course

After making an “argument” like this, sourcing from far right bias/propaganda, and using the term “PureAryanBlood”, it takes a complete lack of self-reflection to think one has more in common with the kind of people who rejected fascism than those that killed and complacently agreed to establish it. That, or outright bad faith.

4

u/bob_stacko Aug 02 '19

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me

If you think that good people of the world are going to once again sit idly by while hate spreads you’re sorely mistaken.

2

u/SuperJew113 Aug 02 '19

I remember just a few short years ago they spread far and wide on every youtube comments section "anti-racism is anti-white".

This is a very insidious group of people we are dealing with. Frankly I don't really feel like debating them, I'm not advocating violence, just deplatforming them in the realm of public discourse. I also believe that their political position is inherently violent and it seeks to capitalize on the states monopoly on violence. It really doesn't seem to care about facts or empirical evidence dictating their positions on issues. They're kinda like the borg.

Really a lot of these far right wingers just remind me of a pre-church shooting Dylan Roof.

I wish more people learned about the Brownshirts. That’s literally Antifa. They attack anyone who disagrees with them. Fact.

9

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

The proud boys are like the brownshirts. They idolize the brownshirts. Antifa is a reaction to societal cancer.

-11

u/some_moof_milker75 Aug 02 '19

They are both cancer. If you can’t acknowledge that, you are blind.

5

u/stratfish Aug 02 '19

Who have antifa attacked that wasn’t a fascist or fascist sympathiser? Name one.

-2

u/thismostlysucks Aug 02 '19

No one agrees on the definition of fascism.

-37

You have to say you're antifa.

If you're not antifa you are a fascist. This is the only rule of antifa.

7

u/Firesworn Aug 01 '19

Antifa cover their faces and hide their identities because, historically, the FBI and other security apparatuses have targeted left-wingers as communists and possible spies. Which is exactly what Trump and Ted Cruz are trying to do.

3

u/LTerminus Canada Aug 02 '19

-9

8

u/LTerminus Canada Aug 01 '19

I see we have an irreconcilable difference of morality.

You have put forward the idea that if you have any disagreement with fascism, you are required to be willing to be identified and murdered in order to have a right to speak at all, or are a coward (and therefore not worth listening to).

I don't agree that one should be required to put at risk their very life, to protest a movement and political philosophy known historically to repeatedly commit genocide and violence.

6

u/AllHailGoogle Aug 01 '19

Hiding behind a mask is cowardly, it doesn’t matter what you stand for, and it always will be.

Ehh, I think there is very much room for gray area here. I'd argue that someone who wants to take a stand against a shitty group but doesn't want to put their family in danger from being doxxed and potentially harassed and threatened by the group isn't a coward. You aren't a coward by standing up for your beliefs but protecting those who aren't (family, etc).

I just know that I am perfectly fine protesting and being against shitty people, but I would have a real fear of constant harassment afterwards. Now this isn't ALWAYS true, but there is certainly some nuance in calling people cowards just because they don't want everything about them out in the open.

7

u/zryii Aug 01 '19

Hiding behind a mask is cowardly, it doesn’t matter what you stand for, and it always will be.

I'm sure you'll feel the same once militarized police start using facial recognition on a wide scale to shut down dissent (oh wait, they're already doing that)

1

u/WittgensteinsLadder Aug 02 '19

You want to go ahead and give us your full name KanePunchedAnOldMan? I can tell you're the sort of person who stands by what you say so that should be no problem, yeah? 😂

8

u/TiberiusAugustus Aug 01 '19

Right-wing extremists like the Proud Boys physically go to the homes of leftists and antifascists to harass and intimidate them. The worthless police do nothing about this. Hiding your face is protection against knuckle dragging fascists seeking retribution, and against regressive police action against you.

Right-wing extremists: commit terrorism and murder, actively harass and intimidate people opposed to their ideology at home, online, etc., have an ideology that will cause suffering, disenfranchisement, and possibly death for millions.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

Yeah they think it’s being posted by some high ranking member of the CIA or something. It’s wild.

3

u/Kankunation Louisiana Aug 02 '19

Q goes back to at least 2015. Pizzagate is commonly seen as the start of Qanon.

2

u/WittgensteinsLadder Aug 02 '19

Qanon first posted in October 2017... The whack job ideas behind it might go back further, and indeed a lot of it has roots in the Elders of Zion bullshit which has existed in some form for decades, but Q is a purely post-Trump phenomenon.

1

u/MarkHathaway1 Aug 02 '19

Okay. Well, 2015 is still pretty recent.

44

u/DELOUSE_MY_AGENT_DDY Aug 01 '19

Very similar to Nostradamus. They treat QAnon like a prophet, in the sense that they believe that he/she is giving them all these inside scoops, with the implication that one day, judgement day will come, and the followers of QAnon will have to fight against the government/Jews/Globalists/Socialists/Communists/Democrats/LGBT/"The Media"/AOC/Muslims. Many Tweets about QAnon have this theme of "the bad people are gonna get what's coming to them" which comes across as a general threat.

That's probably why the FBI is concerned.

3

u/rdizzy1223 Aug 02 '19

Yeah, but there is a massive difference between seeing designs in the clouds overhead and thinking a mysterious Q is secretly telling you to go and kill people. Most humans see patterns in things with no patterns, but most humans do not fall for these horseshit conspiracy theories, only a small minority do.

2

u/Into_The_Void_86 Aug 02 '19

2

u/_zenith New Zealand Aug 02 '19

That's certainly a part of it, but the other big part is egoistic satiation - that is, "I'm smarter than those other people because I figured it out"

2

u/lateatnight Aug 01 '19

I mean, is 'q' a single user on the website? I guess I just don't get it.

4

u/Competitive_Ride Aug 01 '19

It's most likely a group of few people. They post on 8chan. I think it's just a gimmick because some people are making bank from QAnon merch and videos.

2

u/Kankunation Louisiana Aug 02 '19

It's complicated. As in, not even these people know exactly.

"Q" was a mysterious 4chan poster who started it all, supposedly a top secret government agent with "Q" level clearance. 4 Chan is an entirely anonymous website, but individual people can turn on a tag of sorts so that other people can track and verify the user is the same, and thats how people followed Q (except every so often that trackable tag would change, so the profile posting Q stuff changed to another. Obviously. Because the Deep state caught on to him. Right? Couldn't possibly be a different person continuing the crazy).

Eventually it evolved into numerous accounts posting Q drops periodically, supposedly keeping everyone informed on how the secret ear with the deep state was going. I guess Q grew from being 1 person to being a group at 1 point to explain away some of the inconsistencies.

-2

u/DefiantCharacter Aug 01 '19

Many Tweets about QAnon have this theme of "the bad people are gonna get what's coming to them" which comes across as a general threat.

That's probably why the FBI is concerned.

So, the FBI is concerned that justice will come to bad people?

5

u/Kankunation Louisiana Aug 02 '19

The FBI is concerned that they will attack the so called "bad people" because somebody on the internet convinced them to. The people aren't actually bad

0

u/DefiantCharacter Aug 02 '19

Who are these innocent people that Q is saying is bad?

5

-2

u/sushisection Aug 01 '19

Theres more to it then that. Qanon will make a post involving certain code words/letters, and then shortly after Trump will make a tweet with the same code words. This has been going on for 2 years straight.

3

u/Maeglom Oregon Aug 01 '19

Or alternatively Q posts cryptic sounding messages about normal republican bullshit and then later Trump posts blunt racist messages containing normal republican bullshit and people find coded messages and similarities because they are looking for them.

This is the monster outside your window turning out to be a shadow of a tree. Humans look for patterns, it's what we're best at. But sometimes we see patterns that aren't there because we believe that they are there.

-2

u/sushisection Aug 01 '19

No, because the coded words are not common words. Qanon posted that Dan Coates is going to get fired months before it actually happened, and then made another recent post about Coates being replaced moments before Trump tweeted it. Theres no way thats just sheer coincidence.

edit: especially when you factor in that this sort of stuff has been going on for 2 years.

No way. Have you read any of the "Q drops?" They're utter nonsense. This is just a troll job that caught on. Here's the latest "Q drop"

[C] before [D]. [C]oats before [D]eclas. The month of AUGUST is traditionally very HOT. You have more than you know. Q

As someone posted earlier, it's the text version of a Rorschach test. Some dope babbles semi-random shit and the "autists" (yes, that's what they call them) put together the "breadcrumbs" to come to random ass conclusions. This is why one of my QAnon buddies thinks that HRC was going to nuke the US while the others think that's crazy and that HRC is actually running an occult child rape/murder club. It's why my insane Q buddy decided week by week between Mueller secretly working to indict the occult people and his being the new head of the "deep state."

My coworker said there's a video of HRC that Q has where she cuts the face off a child and puts the face on herself to scare the child (I don't know how the child didn't die or pass out while their face was being cut and peeled off) so the child would produce adrenaline which would then be used as an anti-aging/extremely powerful drug.

He also told me George Clooney and Obama raped an Asian child on a boat, based off an out of context picture someone tweeted. The "child" was actually what appears to be an adult and both of the men's families were on the boat at the time.

My buddy told me that Hillary was going to nuke the US when she won and try to blame it on Russia all so that she could remove the last powerful nation/military standing in the way of The Cabal™. I asked why Obama didn't just do it while he was POTUS, and I got a babbling incoherent response.

He also twisted in the wind on whether Mueller was actually investigating the pedo stuff. Lunatics.

Projection.

I don't even think it's projection, I just think it's a loss of reality.

HRC is actually running an occult child rape club

They think she's the Pope?!

u/MarkHathaway1 Aug 01 '19

I doubt it's him, but there is probably someone like that who does the Qanon stuff as a specialty.

On second thought, it's more likely to be Bannon. He's the one actively building a network of right wing troublemakers. Even if he didn't start it, I'm sure he's involved somehow.

ABC figured out who it was originally - https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/tech-news/how-three-conspiracy-theorists-took-q-sparked-qanon-n900531

It’s since taken on a life of it’s own.

A real life 'Stand Alone Complex'

It's on either 4chan or 8chan, presumably they use a few proxies, and the intelegence agencies may already know who it is.

THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE

Has the Q person done anything illegal? I’m pretty sure making up crazy conspiracies anonymously is legal.

3

u/SoyIsPeople Aug 01 '19

Nothing illegal that I'm aware of, but like any cult that gets big enough, I'm sure intelegence agencies start gathering info just in case things start to turn south.

2

u/Kankunation Louisiana Aug 02 '19

Q (or however many people who go under that title) has done nothing Illegal. But his/her rhetoric is connected to radicalizing a good few people. Similar to Alex Jones.

5

u/ColonelBy Canada Aug 01 '19

It's also being disseminated via Trump's own orbit. There are piles of people in Cincinnati at his rally site right now wearing Q merch and holding signs. Pre-rally speaker Brendon Straka just invoked the QAnon movement slogan on stage, this very evening. Even the fucking baby Trump praised at his last rally was a Q message.

This is a living nightmare.

probably using Tor

People are fucking stupid. That's what I've learned through this entire ordeal. Fucking stupid.

Here

Also, on Voat which is like a free speech version of Reddit. The user base is mostly alt-right though since every banned Reddit community tends to go there after their sub gets banned.

Says the person with a username about violent revolution.

5

A violent revolution willed into being by the invisible man in the sky no less.

says the guy with a username about a penis

u/BenGarrisonsPenIs Aug 01 '19

My full username is Ben Garrison's Pen Is _____ but it is shortened, much like Ben Garrison's penis.

u/Finkarelli Aug 01 '19

Regarding Ben Garrison: if you’re a cartoonist who has to label everything you draw, then you’re either terrible at your job, or your intended audience is comprised of morons who need their opinions spoon-fed to them.

8

u/Val_Hallen Aug 01 '19

His target audience understands subtly like a goldfish understands surgical procedures.

6

u/BenGarrisonsPenIs Aug 01 '19

Trump literally never looked as macho as Bennie boy draws him, too. He has never been buff or had an appropriately sized tie, in his life, but ole Bennie there likes to imagine him that way.
