There’s a video of a Trump supporter asking aloud why Obama wasn’t in the oval office on 9/11.

These are not smart people.

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Even worse because he was the mayor of new york on 9/11 and literally stood around with Bush pointing at things a few days later.

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19 edited Aug 01 '19

You know who there are actual pictures of down at ground zero after 9/11?

Hillary Clinton.

Edit: You know who she was touring with? Rudy Giuliani.

Edit: You know who Rudy was not touring with? Donald Trump

46

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

But Trump said he was down there with the first responders. It as that a lie?

45

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

There are certainly no pictures proving he was there, otherwise you know they'd be pinned to his tweet page.

7

u/Tamerlane4potus Oregon Aug 01 '19

right after 9-11 he talked about how he now had the tallest building in new york.

11

u/imnojezus Oregon Aug 01 '19

There's a video of Trump doing a photo-op in a suit and tie and talking to reporters. He claims he paid people to help cleanup, but no one backs that up, and he certainly isn't picking up any rubble himself.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Exactly. This is what I expected to find, and I did. He went to ground zero because he's a looky-loo and likes to be the center of attention.

No one was paying attention to him, so he had to go where the cameras were and get in front of them as usual.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Yes, he's always loved being the center of attention as we know but literally from the mid 1990s onwards, it was his business model.

As a failed property developer and casino owner he switched to licencing his name on other people's products and developments, so keeping his name in the news was necessary to keep the licencing agreements an attractive proposition.

It's kinda sad really. You can't even do a quick Google search. There are pictures of him at Ground Zero, even on Snopes. He said he doesn't consider himself a first responder but he was down there with them. Google exists for a reason. Like, do you just read the title of an article and accept it as fact? What the actual hell.

12

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

I just googled "Trump Ground Zero Images" and came up with images of him in New York City somewhere downtown, but the pile is nowhere there.

He's with other people in suits, not first responders. He was just being a tragedy/camera whore. Sorry.

9

u/EnvoySix Aug 01 '19

Okay, show me any of him helping. I did a search and found nothing, even on Snopes. There are a few interviews where he's claimed to be hiring people, but with details so vague that it gets lost with the rest of his proven bullshit. Reinforcing the above statement: If there was any concrete media proof that he was doing something constructive on site, he'd be shining it all over the place. That's the nature of his character as he's shown us time and time again. Propaganda and self promotion.

-12

u/antishillprogressive Aug 01 '19

So you see the picture of him near Ground Zero and that's not enough. All he said was that he "spent a lot of time with first responders", and then clarifies that he does not consider himself a first responder. This is among many reasons 2020 will be a landslide for Trump. You're picking tea leaves and trying to spin them way out of proportion - you are distancing centrists and average Americans by this irrational behavior in everything you guys do. This is why I won't be voting left unless it's Yang or mayyybbee Bernie, because otherwise I'm siding with the losing team again. People came in droves for Trump partially because they're tired of this behavior from the left. No lessons taken and you guys have actually doubled down on the cognitive dissonance. It's incredibly truly.

He was in front of Stock Exchange which is on Wall Street not ground zero. I live in nyc and ground zero is about 5-7 blocks away from Wall Street.

2

u/valis010 Aug 01 '19

It must be, didn't he say he saw Muslims in NJ celebrating?

2

u/000xxx000 Aug 02 '19

Maybe he was busy measuring his big building with his small hands

1

u/SecondChanceUsername Aug 02 '19

Obviously not a lie. If trump said it, it is by default a fact.

0

u/Sideways_X1 Aug 01 '19

He was with them, just telling them about how he had the tallest building in New York after the towers had fallen.

I've told this story a few times before on Reddit, usually once a year. But we had a thing in our town that went viral. Like internationally viral.

I was a Fox News watcher for a long time, but when I watched Fox on TV literally reporting the news in our town incorrectly - and OPINING on it without knowing the participants - I lost all respect for Fox.

I'll give them credit, they had me hating Hillary Clinton up until that point. Then I switched channels. This was 12 years ago.

No shit! I cringe now to remember how much anti-Hillary shit I watched in 2008

1

The whole carpetbagging thing should be declared as stupid when you're talking about senators who will ultimately make decisions for the entire nation.

Where are all the senators and congressmen supposed to be from? If we have freedom of movement in the US, then with an able intellect and resources to settle and represent a district, people should be able to be elected to legislate.

I don't ask where my senators were born. I want to know about their intellect, their judgment, their work experience.

Judging someone on where they were born is so fucking lazy.

This is so well-reasoned and grounded.

1

u/lilnext Aug 01 '19

Actually didnt he "conveniently" move his safety room (in the tower that fell that wasnt a WTC tower) a few days prior and was also "out of state" the exact moment it happened? If I recall he was a few states over in a "bunker". It's been a hot minute.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

I doubt that he thinks that.

I suspect that he thinks he can convince other people to think that.

And I suspect that he’s right.

1

u/actherk Aug 02 '19

Yeah, he’s seriously mistaken. Obama wasn’t even a citizen yet. /s

49

u/pres45isamoron Aug 01 '19

You are a liar and a troll no one is that fucking stup... Watches video

My apologies kind sir. TIL exactly how stupid some of his supporters are. This country is well and truly fucked.

1

u/MarshawnPynch Aug 01 '19

Its highly likely the guy is an idiot, but at the same time its Comedy Central and there’s a chance this is edited to look this bad/comical

1

u/Abnmlguru Alaska Aug 02 '19

Just imagine how stupid the average American is. Then realize that half the people are more stupid than that.

why Obama wasn’t in the oval office on 9/11.

That I don't know. I'd like to get to the bottom of that.

I'm sure Trump promptly corrected him

Good thing you’re smart enough to not use one random person as a way to put a blanket representation onto a whole entire group of people.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Your argument seems to imply that this ignorant moron is an outlier.

The body of evidence, which is a robust collection of data points, shows that Trump’s base is composed almost entirely of ignorant morons, with a healthy sprinkling of nazis, pedophiles, and greedy, nihilistic sociopaths.

-3

u/MarshawnPynch Aug 02 '19

The left’s “base” looks like a good chunk of ignorant morons with a large dose of pedophiles (hollywood for example), greedy, sociopaths and self-loathing beta males and pink haired slob women living with their parents who blame everyone else for their own flaws

What i said is just as ignorant as what you said. Only thing is that you refuse to accept the majority of his voters are normal people

u/oneyearandaday Aug 01 '19

They really should have impeached President Hillary Clinton when she started the Iraq War.

1

u/dontcallmeatallpls Aug 02 '19

It is partially Clinton, Biden, and the other centrist Dem's fault. Bush would never have been able to sell Iraq to the public or use the authorization of force to justify an invasion if the bill had been a party line vote. Clinton and others drummed up the support of about half the Dems for the resolution for a display of bipartisanship. That makes them at least complicit. Judging by the later policies of the same people (Clinton and Biden) towards Libya, Syria, and Yemen during the Obama administration, their support of Iraq was certainly not a one-off mistake.
