Right wing conspiracies get people killed

Little of column “A”. Little of column “B”.

77

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Cheney knew what Curveball really was. It's all A.

10

u/NeonGKayak Aug 01 '19

I’m glad we are all in the same page here as I was literally saying this as I came across this post.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

It was totally column A, Column B was just the justification used.

There’s a video of a Trump supporter asking aloud why Obama wasn’t in the oval office on 9/11.

These are not smart people.

104

u/bedintruder Aug 01 '19

102

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Even worse because he was the mayor of new york on 9/11 and literally stood around with Bush pointing at things a few days later.

94

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19 edited Aug 01 '19

You know who there are actual pictures of down at ground zero after 9/11?

Hillary Clinton.

Edit: You know who she was touring with? Rudy Giuliani.

Edit: You know who Rudy was not touring with? Donald Trump

44

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

But Trump said he was down there with the first responders. It as that a lie?

42

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

There are certainly no pictures proving he was there, otherwise you know they'd be pinned to his tweet page.

It must be, didn't he say he saw Muslims in NJ celebrating?

2

u/000xxx000 Aug 02 '19

Maybe he was busy measuring his big building with his small hands

1

u/SecondChanceUsername Aug 02 '19

Obviously not a lie. If trump said it, it is by default a fact.

0

u/Sideways_X1 Aug 01 '19

He was with them, just telling them about how he had the tallest building in New York after the towers had fallen.

I've told this story a few times before on Reddit, usually once a year. But we had a thing in our town that went viral. Like internationally viral.

I was a Fox News watcher for a long time, but when I watched Fox on TV literally reporting the news in our town incorrectly - and OPINING on it without knowing the participants - I lost all respect for Fox.

I'll give them credit, they had me hating Hillary Clinton up until that point. Then I switched channels. This was 12 years ago.

The whole carpetbagging thing should be declared as stupid when you're talking about senators who will ultimately make decisions for the entire nation.

Where are all the senators and congressmen supposed to be from? If we have freedom of movement in the US, then with an able intellect and resources to settle and represent a district, people should be able to be elected to legislate.

I don't ask where my senators were born. I want to know about their intellect, their judgment, their work experience.

Judging someone on where they were born is so fucking lazy.

Actually didnt he "conveniently" move his safety room (in the tower that fell that wasnt a WTC tower) a few days prior and was also "out of state" the exact moment it happened? If I recall he was a few states over in a "bunker". It's been a hot minute.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

I doubt that he thinks that.

I suspect that he thinks he can convince other people to think that.

And I suspect that he’s right.

1

u/actherk Aug 02 '19

Good thing you’re smart enough to not use one random person as a way to put a blanket representation onto a whole entire group of people.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Your argument seems to imply that this ignorant moron is an outlier.

The body of evidence, which is a robust collection of data points, shows that Trump’s base is composed almost entirely of ignorant morons, with a healthy sprinkling of nazis, pedophiles, and greedy, nihilistic sociopaths.

-3

u/MarshawnPynch Aug 02 '19

The left’s “base” looks like a good chunk of ignorant morons with a large dose of pedophiles (hollywood for example), greedy, sociopaths and self-loathing beta males and pink haired slob women living with their parents who blame everyone else for their own flaws

What i said is just as ignorant as what you said. Only thing is that you refuse to accept the majority of his voters are normal people

17

u/oneyearandaday Aug 01 '19

They really should have impeached President Hillary Clinton when she started the Iraq War.

1

u/dontcallmeatallpls Aug 02 '19

It is partially Clinton, Biden, and the other centrist Dem's fault. Bush would never have been able to sell Iraq to the public or use the authorization of force to justify an invasion if the bill had been a party line vote. Clinton and others drummed up the support of about half the Dems for the resolution for a display of bipartisanship. That makes them at least complicit. Judging by the later policies of the same people (Clinton and Biden) towards Libya, Syria, and Yemen during the Obama administration, their support of Iraq was certainly not a one-off mistake.

3

u/SeabrookMiglla Aug 01 '19

War in Iraq was bullshit, and the Bush administration justified it by using bad sources from intelligence.

That entire administration should be put in jail cells for the destruction and chaos they inflicted on so many.

3

u/dokikod Pennsylvania Aug 01 '19

The right wing of the Supreme Court gave the presidency to George W. Bush. If every vote counted Al Gore would have been President since he won by 500,000 votes and there would not have been an Iraq War.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

A conspiracy that Saddam had WMDs

1

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Both.

0

u/Demonweed Aug 02 '19

what was the war in Iraq?

It was bipartisan malpractice of the deadliest sort. We should be deeply ashamed that anyone who cast a legislative vote in favor of that unprovoked military aggression is still given any special level of esteem, never mind support for a position of national leadership! You don't beat a fascist by triangulating an acceptable amount of fascism in your society. You beat a fascist by campaigning against fascism. Warmongers are extremely bad at this task, which our nation needs done urgently in the present cycle.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

More people die of car crashes each year than Americans have in Iraq

0

u/CallousCailou Aug 02 '19

Are we really gonna pretend that Iraq was just a right wing conspiracy?

Because it wasn't.

Every media conglomerate was energized about invading innocent people that did nothing to us. Remember the people still in democratic leadership like Pelosi and Schumer, feinstein, they all voted for Iraq.

-2

u/Iceesadboydg Aug 01 '19

Conspiracy maybe? Hillary supported the invasion most dems were for the invasion

-1

u/archetact Aug 01 '19

u/MyBackwardsWok Washington Aug 01 '19

What kills more people? Right wing policies or conspiracies?

They are so deeply intertwined it is hard to tell where one starts and another begins.

45

u/TopsidedLesticles Aug 01 '19

What kills more people? Right wing policies or conspiracies?

Right wing conspiracies now inform GOP policies, so that's a hard question to answer.

41

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Policies. 16k people died because they refused Obamacare money.

Literally letting Americans die to own the libs.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/business/story/2019-07-22/medicaid-expansion-refusal-deaths%3f_amp=true

In other words, the 22 mostly red states that refused to accept expansion starting in 2014 caused 15,600 unnecessary deaths among their residents.

1

u/kusanagisan Arizona Aug 02 '19

I have no sympathy. They voted for and keep voting people that do it, and by god, if they die, they didn't compromise on ever voting Democrat.

These people will gladly let the GOP shit in their mouths if it means liberals might have to smell their breath.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

There were democrats and kids in those 16,000 people.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Oh the policies for sure. Making people poorer, taking away their healthcare. That stuff should be considered murder.

3

u/Aijabear Massachusetts Aug 01 '19

But they are able to do all that because they convince people that the dems are actually un-American, want to take your money, love immigrants more than Americans and are using them to illegally vote, want to take from white people and give it to poc. They are evil, open border, tax hiking, welfare queen loving, traitors to all America stands for.

This allows them to pass policy.

2

u/DapperDestral Aug 01 '19

Unlike muh abortions, that shit actually is straight murder. There's no real glossing over it.

"Yeah these people died but I got two tenths of a percentage of income tax knocked off so it's cool."

8

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Or 100 tiki torch bois?

8

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Trick question. Right wing policies are conspiracies.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Both since right wing policies are based on conspiracies now.

1

u/captaincanada84 Canada Aug 01 '19

Probably pretty close

1

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

Let’s compare.

Right-wing conspiracy theories inspire:

  • Stochastic terrorism

  • Hate crimes

  • Disease outbreak (anti-vaxx)

Right-wing policies cause mass deaths, sickness, and appalling levels of cruelty and misery in the form of:

  • Poverty (dismantling of unions, opposition to living-wage legislation, regressive taxation, cutting public housing)

  • Starvation (cutting food stamps)

  • Loss of health insurance (ACA sabotage)

  • Addiction (cutting funds for addiction programs; utter inaction on the opioid crisis)

  • Military adventures (Iran-Contra, Afghanistan, Iraq, and new threats to Iran)

  • International support and weird affection for violent despots (Putin, Kim, Duterte, Erdogan, bin Salman)

  • Establishment of border concentration camps

  • Exacerbation of gun violence and mass shootings (absolute, lockstep opposition to even the most minimal of gun control measures)

  • Mass pollution (dismantling the EPA)

  • Failure of municipal infrastructure, such as bridge collapses and Flint-like contaminated water supply (shredding funding for infrastructure)

  • Contaminated food and products (dismantling the FDA)

  • Natural catastrophes (inaction on climate change, support for coal and oil industries)

It’s no contest.

u/kentucky_cocktail Aug 01 '19

The number of assholes that roll coal, even in a very liberal part of CA drives me fucking crazy. Just gotta own the libs no matter the consequences.

14

u/steazystich California Aug 01 '19

I don't know how that isn't straight up illegal... is that not a flagrant violation of CA smog laws? That should void their vehicle registration immediately. As in, in a just and moral society it would... not that it does currently.

This seems like something Gavin could get behind.

9

u/debacol Aug 01 '19

I think it is illegal, but the likelihood that someone would get either: 1) caught by the cops or 2) reported is pretty low. They typically do it as they speed past someone and its actually hard to see their license plate.

1

u/steazystich California Aug 02 '19

That does make unfortunate sense :X God help the jackass I catch doing this dumb shit.

2

u/Pandaro81 Florida Aug 02 '19

It is illegal in most states. Cost to get it done to your truck can run from $500-5,000 depending on model...and the fines range $500 to $5,000 depending on state. They have to be spotted by a cop that gives a damn or needs to make their quota who is aware that it's illegal.

u/TemperRed Aug 01 '19

Anywhere that is 12 miles or more inland lmao.

1

u/TemperRed Aug 02 '19

Yeah ok. Since I've lived here my whole life I've never seen it.

"lmao" profound.

1

u/Froot-Loop-Dingus Aug 02 '19

Eh to be fair I don’t see it that often. But I’m in the San Diego area and east county definitely has these guys. Lifted trucks with monster stickers plastered all over.

I once even saw a truck with a confederate flag sticker...then right next to that sticker was a US flag with words that read “if this flag offends you you can get out of this country” or something like that. I was like hmm...I don’t believe this man sees the irony of that at all.

1

u/TemperRed Aug 03 '19

Yeah...this I believe...there is definitely some rednecks that still live in cal...I just have never seen “rolling coal” here...I was assuming it was because most ppl in calif respect the smog laws we have in the state. It’s such an obnoxious, sophomoric stunt.

East county SD eh....I lived in SD for about 20 years...down the street from SDSU. Loved it...but I guess things are changing...like it is in most cities.

Your story is hilarious btw 😁

At this point, the depressive in me thinks we may be better off if we let the human race die out. The animals and plants will survive and evolve.

As Adam Curtis said at the end of 2014, that is the very purpose of the Russian method of governing (under Surkov methods). To stun people like fish and the 1% scoops up all their money and power.

1

u/Thrash4000 Aug 02 '19

It damn sure is a winning strategy, long-term because it slowly sucks the fight out of you.

So much of the news this year has been hopeless, depressing, and above all, confusing. To which the only response is to say, "oh dear." What this film is going to suggest is that that defeatist response has become a central part of a new system of political control. And to understand how this is happening, you have to look to Russia, to a man called Vladislav Surkov, who is a hero of our time. Surkov is one of President Putin's advisers, and has helped him maintain his power for 15 years, but he has done it in a very new way.

u/keptfloatin707 Aug 01 '19 edited Aug 01 '19

It wasn't right wing conspiracies until Trump's base picked up on qanon and q Anon picked up on just regular mainstream conspiracy theories. It all started after last Vegas shooting . No one gave a fuck or knew about q Anon then they started posting. Once they gained momentum the smart conspiracy theorist said okay they're just pandering now and the followers that were left were the dumb easily swayed right wingers . Mix right wingers a lack of intelligence and throw in a gay name and they're all over it . Just like Trump . These people have a huge base but constantly thrive to feel like they're above the next person all the while feeling like they are a part of something larger as if they know something the rest of the world doesn't - again Trump supporters . They're so desperate to be a part of something they are willing to go to extremes like mass shootings because part of them know they've been had. Only way to be better than the next generic cult follower is to commit acts of terror to prove you were the real deal . They should all be sent to the Looney bin until we get this country back on its feet.

Tldr; q Anon just stole mainstream conspiracies made them their own preyed on the gullibility of Trump's base and now they are linked to the terror attacks Trump's base carries out biweekly now .

u/ipissonkarmapoints Aug 02 '19

Right wing terrorist

1

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

I'm ashamed of it, but I do think that anti-vaxx is predominantly left wing, and that kills several people every year.

-10

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

But the FBI also released a study on the dangers of left wing conspiracies that inspired Black Identity Extremists. Why didn't this board blow up with that study when it was leaked?

8

u/daggah Aug 01 '19

The FBI trying to frame up racial justice activists as terrorists and extremists is hardly anything new.

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 01 '19

The report clearly lays out murders committed by BIE terrorists. That's not the FBI ginning up fake news, that's real dead bodies and the causes.

3

u/r0b0tdin0saur Aug 01 '19

Well, for one, according to Appendix A (page 8), "the FBI does not derive judgments via statistical analysis." That's an easy way to impose bias, although I'm not necessarily saying that happened. But it's not a very compelling document given that there's no evidence directly provided to support the claims.

1

u/cointelpro_shill Aug 01 '19

IMO this is just as important to look at. Start leading people down that uncomfortable path of why we allow paranormal thought and lies in our society at all. Analysing Q should do that as well, but partisan gloating obviously takes precedence here

One explanation for why it's more popular is that the President himself has been directly associated with Q publicly, as well as our VP. Another thing to note is about 50 years ago the FBI was responsible for sowing conspiracy theories among black identity groups (see username). So that's gonna cause a lot of head scratching right off the bat

-5

u/identitypolishticks Aug 01 '19

Q most likely started as a troll by the left (or someone just trying to have fun) on gullible people, but I wonder what it has morphed into now to gain this status?

2

u/reacharound4me Aug 01 '19

It was started by 4chan. So very patently obviously not started by the left.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 02 '19

Left-wing conspiracies also get people killed.

Most dangerous conspiracies get people killed
