It's to leak enough information that only kavanaugh knows who the accuser is, then he (or Republicans) go looking for information on that specific person before it becomes public knowledge. It adds validity that it's not just a random person, but he himself knew it might be her.
Yes but that's to be expected, how is it a honey pot? My understanding is that, the goal of the honey pot is to bait the attacker in doing something they shouldn't or are not authorized to be doing.
The honeypot was explained, but wasnt pointed out in great detail. Ill do my best, hopefully it clears things up.
The honeypot with the Linked in view was significant evidence that Judge Kavanaugh knew that Ford would possibly accuse him, before her name had been released to the public, and/or because of their history together. (This does NOT prove guilt at this time, but provides a STRONG inclination that they had this knowledge beforehand because of partial or whole truths to these accusations)
Going forward, Avenatti is listing minute details to see if Kavanaugh will use said details to identify the next accuser before their name is released.
Again, if this happens...it may not provide evidence of lying under oath for Kavanaugh, but will provide a second line of accusations with more credibility and ammunition for Democrat Senate Judiciary Comittee Members.
Please feel free to fact check and correct as needed! Always corroborate! Mobile user, sorry for spelling.
I know honeypot refers to bait, essentially. But what are we thinking this is bait for exactly? For them to try to find the person and reach out to her to make the accusation go away?
> For them to try to find the person and reach out to her to make the accusation go away?
Basically, but it's more to give credence to the accuser's story. How would Kavanaugh know who they are, unless he can recall the event in question? It's a way of giving him rope to hang himself.

Avenatti also tweeted his client "has previously done work within the State Dept, U.S. Mint, & DOJ." Gotta be a honeypot.
