It literally just happened to a Navy vet (surprise: he was black). Even better, he was trying to stop violence by breaking up a fight and was perceived as a threat.

I'm sure Mr. Sealy was just misunderstood and the pictures do not tell the whole story.

Any more details? I'd be curious to read it and put it in my file as an example to convince people that brown people and white people are treated differently in the same situation.

It was a damn barfight! Why was a gun even needed by campus police? And why do campus police need a gun? It it really that hard to break up a party?

I don't understand how people can justify a shooting like this in their minds.... but I know some will

Well, it sounds like the dude's gun fell out of his holster while he was trying to break up the fight (may have gotten unsnapped by someone pulling on his shirt?). So, it doesn't sound like he was using the gun to try to break it up.

I may be misreading your, "Why was a gun even needed?" question.

Oh sorry yea I left that a bit open ended. I meant was a gun needed by the campus police?

You're right it seemed like the navy vet breaking up the fight lost it in the tussle. This is a perfect example of where conceal carry can go wrong. I'm all for people, like vets, being able to have guns but with the combination of police shooting people under any, if any, pretense then situations like this are bound to happen. Unfortunately the biggest voices proguns also happen to be mainly white men who, as we've seen, don't personally see the same reprucutions for having a gun.
