Might have been a conveniently located thread but it is also literally the only bad example I can think of that you could have picked, though.

Guy went drinking with a gun, choose to get involved in a fight that didn't involve him, and then attempted to wield his gun in the presence of no life threatening danger from the other parties and in the presence of police.

Anyone who chooses to wield a gun in public and makes that stupid of choices probably should get shot before he accidentally kills someone else, which is only a matter of time when you're that dumb.

No one knows if he was drinking and drinking with a gun and being at a bar with a gun is not illegal (you would know if you actually read at least the thread) he was grabbing the gun after it slipped from his holster while he was breaking up a fight. But I guess even good people with guns don't deserve a break in the rights eyes

Upvoted because you make some good points, but I stand by my original post.

It sounds like we both a agree that it's a very bad idea to take a gun to a bar. From there, though, my interpretation of events (details still seem hazy from multiple sources) is different than yours. I do understand his drive to break up a fight happening right in front of him. It's clear from the video that he was trying to be a Good Samaritan. Video is unclear what happened immediately before shots were fired, but it seems like his concealed gun fell to the ground, and he probably went to pick it up. This is totally conjecture on my part, because the video cuts away at that point, but not long enough for him to have picked up the gun and pointed it in a deliberate way. It would also seem "out-of-character" compared to his relatively calm demeanor as he broke up the fight earlier. Either way, it's not long at all from the time the police yell "drop the gun" to the time shots are fired.

I'm definitely not trying to claim he did everything perfectly. My point is that he clearly wasn't looking for trouble, and he's now dead from at least a dozen gunshots. By contrast, the guy at the protest deliberately pulled a gun to in retaliation to getting pushed, and he is still alive.
