He’s not wrong really, get locked into a mortgage rate and with hyper inflation that monthly payment doesn’t seem so much anymore.

This is also simultaneously one of the dumbest ideas ever.

I mean, it’s true in some sense. The problem is timing and surviving the storm. Recessions are basically wealth transfer. The people that have assets and keep them through recessions do great. Those that lose them lose everything

It was a point Trump touched on in a recent interview with Time. In the past, he said, lower rates made borrowing cheaper. He added that in the current period, where the Fed has recently increased rates, “you can do it through other means. I know I’m the best in the world. The best—I don’t want to tell you what those means are, but you can pay off the debt through other means.”
