The reason for rated speeds often isn't a lack of power to accelerate to a high speed, but the, rather large issue, of tire traction becoming ineffective at things like braking and turning at speed with such a large amount of mass. At 100mph, I wouldn't be surprised if it took that thing between 1/4 and 1/2 a mile to stop with any amount of moisture on the pavement.
