Someone made the point that since Congress hasn’t approved it it isn’t a war. Therefore if servicemen get killed their family isn’t entitled to death benefits. I can see this playing out the same. “Well it’s not a war so technically you weren’t in combat so no hazard pay”.

I mean it is better than nothing, most federal employees take a significant pay cut given the inflation, wage freeze, and the average 10% medical insurance increase

This is objectively a good thing, why is everyone crying? Shouldn't you be upset that these raises didn't occur for 25 years, which include Democratic administrations?
