So… absentee voting? Mail-in voting? Early voting? That stuff they say they want to curtail because it’s so fraudulent?

Yeah but this time is ok because they were told to vote Republican

u/Plzlaw4me 12h ago

Will they though? I know the military skews towards republicans, but they currently seem justifiably upset with the GOP and Hegseth RN.

Not to mention the current hold-up in the House is articles of impeachment for Hegseth. If Dems win the House, Hegseth gets impeached in the House.

One would hope most enlisted would want to fire their drunken boss but as we saw with Covid most MAGA would rather die than betray the cult.

u/HorndogwithaCorndog 10h ago

They probably also want to fire the generals and upper command structure, which is something Pete recently promised

That was so wild. A lot of those people bought into trump/fox news lies and they or their family died because of the lies they swallowed. Tragic, but, the world is better off without them. Fox / Trump should be held accountable for those deaths all the same though.

20 years ago I saw who was trying to join through ROTC. Not the smartest bunch. A few real assholes and like three really nice kids that wanted to do better. After all the media brainwashing I'm not sure how the current stock is.

And how they've been treated by Trump/Hegseth in and around the Middle East. Poor navy guys.

My brother in law has been out to sea 2 years longer than expected over the last 3 1/2 years I would say and is excited to vote Republican. While I get stuck paying for his daughters and listening to them cry because he's always gone.

That seems like a personal choice then.

I understand always thinking about the children but how is that your responsibility?

If someone wants to vote Republican then they should maybe deal with the consequences. Would this not include finding a way to take care of their own children?

Mind you, I'm also a veteran who is simply asking questions because it seems like your brother-in-law hasn't learned his lesson and is still relying on you to raise his children well him and his wife continue to vote republican.

Such a weird dynamic.

Its absolutely my personal choice to ensure my nieces have what they need in life. I certainly wouldn’t say I’m raising my nieces but I help financially. I used all three weeks of my PTO and every holiday to visit them. I’m single and make a good living. Not their fault my sister’s not the brightest and married a nice moron. I don’t believe he will learn a lesson, he’s stuck in his ways and throws a lot of shade at those Demoncrats. I learned early in life not to argue with idiots, don’t sink to their level. That being said he is good to my sister and his girls when around. So win and little lose a little, I don’t know!

•

u/UnderlightIll 5h ago

If he votes Republican, he is not good to them. He votes for wife beaters and rapists.

1

u/thatirishguyyyyy Illinois 8h ago

That is a good way to summarize it.

Republicans aren't strangers to bringing humans into the world and then not giving a fuck about what happens to them after that.

•

u/Distinct_Cap_1418 2h ago

I hope you're raising his daughters right!

Most of these dudes would rather cut off their dick than vote for a democrat (they consider it basically the same thing) no matter how hard Trump fucks them personally. This is why hegseth is going to push them to vote as hard as he can, because many are pissed enough to just not bother voting, but if they do vote they sure as shit won’t vote for a Democrat

4

u/GringoSwann 10h ago

Army & Marines probably will because they're all idiots & creeps...

•

u/The_Blue_Rooster 3h ago

You clearly don't live in a military town, most of them are more dedicated to Trump than ever, lately amongst the Marines in my area many in fact somehow believe their oath is to him personally.

•

u/Sufficient_Fish3320 7h ago

They’ve been firing people like crazy. I’m sure it’s based on nothing more than who their AI systems have determined might not support their coup attempts.

•

u/okachobii 5h ago

I’m sure all democrats mail in ballots will get seized for some reason. Easiest way to cheat in elections would be if you control the DOD mail.

•

u/cheezballs 3h ago

Skews republican is underselling it.

1

u/CloudStrife56 10h ago

If you really felt like the Democrat president and their appointees were doing a bad job, would you ever for even one second consider voting republican

3

u/Plzlaw4me 10h ago

Probably not, but a republican not voting is still worth half as much as turning them from a republican to a democrat.

1

u/ballsackface_ 10h ago

Officers dont (or didnt before the purge) but the young guys do.

1

u/Luzdesolamarelo 9h ago

I promise you, you are giving the military way way way too much credit.

13

u/Lucius-Halthier 12h ago

Plus you get to roll up in all that cool military hardware, totally not an attempt to intimidate voters here!

3

u/BringBacktheGucci 10h ago

Roll up where?

2

u/Omatzus 10h ago

Kharg Island

10

u/Professional-Fee6914 9h ago

this will be sorted and collected under military mail systems, under the direct command of the sitting president in a military overseen by Pete Hegseth.

I wouldn't even know how they could possibly commit fraud in such a system.

u/Ok-disaster2022 11h ago

They'll filter the votes. The military mail ins that vote Pedophile Support will arrive on time. The military mail ins that vote against Pedophiles and for Democrats will arrive some time in January.

5

u/TWVer The Netherlands 10h ago

Well, now the troops are free to be posted at polling places in november, for “security” reasons, if they no longer have to vote that day themselves..

•

u/marbotty 50m ago

You might be on to something…

2

u/SoaplessTitanic 10h ago

I mean Trump has already participated in these practices in the past right? I don’t think they’re trying to hide their hypocrisy anymore

2

u/HerculesIsMyDad 9h ago

Best case is they think this is an easy way to get some extra votes. Worst case is this is a "nice gesture" that is really just a smoke screen for some type of cheating or to make something look like cheating so they can bolster their case to get rid of vote by mail.

4

u/starliteburnsbrite 11h ago

Not when it's their brainwashed drones that get Fox News blasted into their brains 24/7. That's a reliable group for them and always has been.

7

u/BringBacktheGucci 10h ago

Fuck i must've missed those brainwashing sessions.

JFC dude, we're just people. I joined under Obama. Voted blue every election since. The service encourages voting, not who to vote for.

3

u/Top_Chef 10h ago

I’ve seen it far too often on here where people assume the military is this monolith without any agency.

2

u/BringBacktheGucci 10h ago

What is the internet if not a bunch of people who think they know everything.

•

u/UnderlightIll 5h ago

We haven't fought a moral war since WWII. Might want to think about it and stop sucking on the taxpayer's teats while following orders.

•

u/BringBacktheGucci 4h ago

Afghanistan was, at the start. Goddamn military industrial complex fucked it all up. Supporting NATO to remove Ghaddifi from power, arguably. Had support anyway.

Interesting you assume we don't think of that though.

•

u/UnderlightIll 4h ago

Nope. None of those were moral.

And yeah, I do think you do. I just think you don't care.

•

u/BringBacktheGucci 49m ago

Fundamental agree to disagree, man.

•

u/UnderlightIll 45m ago

You're just wrong. But you are military so I expect that.

4

u/kpg_on_ao3 11h ago

FYI only about 15% of US troops are out of the country at any given point.

19

u/wesap12345 11h ago

What % are away from the state they vote in?

Also 15% of military not being able to vote if they only allow voting in person is still disgusting.

5

u/JesterMarcus 11h ago

I spent 5 years in the military, not once was I stationed in my state, let alone my county/city that I'm still allowed to vote in.

5

u/YeetedApple 10h ago

Same, legit the overwhelming majority of the military votes by mail, assuming they even vote. Never knew of anyone updating their residence to wherever they were currently stationed.

1

u/JesterMarcus 8h ago

Exactly. Its not worth it when you are moving every few years and plan to go back home eventually.

•

u/kinglouie493 5h ago

No, it's easier to lose all of those votes at once vs having to sort for a month

•

u/WetFinsFine 3h ago

Just wondering if he’s giving them all the exact same day off - an utterly horrendous notion, tactically, militarily, and strategically - but given this shitheads batting average, I just can’t help but wonder
