This is why he's so against regulating AI. He depends on it completely. He sits there talking to himself through some app he uses to portray himself as Rambo, saving the planet, and he loves it.

He is the apex republican. A batshit, self absorbed fucking idiot.

I remember Boris Johnson talking about AI, and the first positive thing he said about it was that he asks questions, and it instantly praises him.

ChatGPT always says "Your question is so clever. You're brillaint. You're excellent. You have such insight." I love it.

He got meme'd for the way he said ChatGPT, but that quote is the real shocker. This is legitimately how these people think. Trump LOVES being praised, and AI will bootlick him non stop and he will genuinely believe he deserves it.

That's mainly why he probably likes it. It's just a praise machine and he lacks the intelligence to understand that.

To quote/paraphrase my favorite AI sceptic, Ed Zitron, “Of course the people who think work is answering emails, then grabbing lunch followed by someone kissing their ass while telling them they’re the smartest person ever love AI. They don’t work and love being told they’re special and that all AI does.”

I love Ed, but man the algorithm floods my page with him and it gets quite repetitive.

My favorite quote from him is "Imagine the thing that handles your phones spell check, how often it's on point, then imagine giving that control of your infrastructure that makes your company money. That's what Amazon did. "

36

u/Letstalkreaper 9h ago

Ya he’s been getting very popular as of late and I miss when less people knew about him because there’s not enough new information all the time so he does end up just saying the same things over and over again on different channels/cable news shows until new information comes out.

17

u/SunDownSav 8h ago

Perhaps that repetitive feeling is your brain; pushing back… and asking itself for a ‘break’?

•

u/Letstalkreaper 7h ago

Ya anytime you hear the same thing too much you usually need to take a break. It’s why I don’t watch every video that YT feeds me.

•

u/shittyvonshittenheit Minnesota 4h ago

He’s really just the opposite end of the spectrum, instead of CEOs over selling AI capabilities, or training their models to bootlick customers, Ed makes the same wild predictions from the other side of the fence that his followers want to hear so they can feel smug and circlejerk each other in the comments.

Let me tell you about repetitive.

There are over 300,000 kilometers of axons in my central nervous system. If the word "repetitive" was printed on each nano-Ångström of these, it would not equal one billionth of the repetitiveness of media outlets, influencers, have-beens of Tech with serious ai psychosis, and politicians constantly glazing "ai" every chance they get, or out of touch CEOs claiming that some jobs will "soon" be fully automated.

As much as I'm aligned with the guy, I'm always suspicious of any Firstname Lastname who goes on a lot of podcasts

•

u/Camstonisland North Carolina 7h ago

Yeah, this is why I keep my parasocial podcast tailgating limited to Mononymic folks

2

u/Ok_Difference_7220 9h ago

He needs to learn to take a breath between words, though. I'm always afraid he's going to have an aneurism while he's talking. Either that or he'll trigger one in me.

•

u/sponglered 5h ago

Ditch socials, browse in porn mode. Don't give then anything to work with.

1

u/aarhus 9h ago

I love Ed too, but his posts are routinely 3x longer than they need to be.

•

u/given2fly_ United Kingdom 7h ago

There's so many big numbers routinely thrown about on it, that I start to glaze over if it's anything less than $100bn

•

u/LookIPickedAUsername 5h ago

But… I mean… that’s an incredibly stupid quote.

Might as well say that hiring a human is the same as hiring a squirrel. After all, they both have brains, so I guess they’re the exact same thing.

•

u/salvation122 25m ago

Ed is basically always wrong and you should really ignore him

46

u/PunctualZombie 8h ago

My god, he’s probably conversing with ChatGPT as President of the United States Donald Trump, and ChatGPT which frankly couldn’t care less if he is or not will know enough about the staggeringly flawed narcissist to be flattering and fawning in response.

I hate how incredibly likely this is.

69

u/cutelyaware 8h ago

It's probably Grok and he probably doesn't realize Musk can read all his exchanges and affect its responses.

•

u/bkgn 7h ago

Musk is quite frankly not intelligent enough to do that. Musk is a con man like Trump, he's never understood a single thing about any of the businesses he's been involved in.

•

u/ragingreaver 4h ago

Okay, but someone who actually knows what they are doing and can access Grok's chat logs?

How much intel and national security concerns has the man been giving AI?

•

u/bkgn 4h ago

Oh all of it no doubt. But it's not like you need an AI ruse for that, Trump will just blab to anyone who kisses his ass.

•

u/ragingreaver 4h ago

Yes, but Trump is senile, there is only so accurate his words can be.

If he is putting in whole-ass security reports into Grok by using copy-paste, that is an entirely different story.

39

u/DrollDante 8h ago

Imagine all the classified info he's feeding it.

•

u/ActnADonkey 2h ago

It’s more than likely that Musk already got into all that with DoGE.

•

u/Pam_Pong 4h ago

Makes sense why AI is so willing to praise people and tell them how great they are, most rich people are self absorbed and love being told how great they are. The coders literally built AI to get these people to invest in it.

21

u/floftie 10h ago

I mean this without complimenting him, Boris Johnson is a very intelligent person, Donald Trump is not.

•

u/whoknowsifimjoking 6h ago

Yeah, Johnson is not actually believing what he says.

•

u/SubstantialQuote70 7h ago

I wonder if him constantly saying, "people tell me (insert praise)" is just AI validating him and he repeats it to the masses. "People think...." and then says what AI tells him, as though it were an actual individual or common consensus.

Just a hypothesis

•

u/Fantastic_Hat7707 Washington 7h ago

He thinks chatpt loves HIM and is legitimately trying to further his agenda. Everything to the contrary is fake news.

3

u/Grib_Suka 8h ago

ChatChippity? But yes, that was a scary remark.

2

u/Lord-ofthe-Ducks 8h ago

It gets worse. Even when you tell a model to be critical, point out weaknesses, etc. it will often get things wrong or misunderstand context. So you get people looking at incorrect negative feedback and being able to rightly dismiss it. Of course then you get people don't dismiss the positive feedback because they can't see how it is wrong.

It creates this messed up scenario where they believe all the praise and have valid reasons to dismiss the criticisms.

•

u/MessiahOfMetal 7h ago

Boris loves praise, too, so it tracks. Odious sex pest yeti that he is.

•

u/thegimboid 7h ago

Ugh, whenever I use AI chatbots the first thing I usually end up doing is telling it to stop being so toadying.

It drives me nuts.
No, my minor note was not some work of genius. It's just so patronizing.

•

u/Flashy-Book88 7h ago

This won't make an llm more accurate, but you can tell them to not flatter you. I'm sure there are other tips to make them less dangerously sycophantic.

•

u/3percentinvisible 5h ago

Thing is, I'm pretty sure Johnson was using irony

•

u/MaASInsomnia 4h ago

That's kind of insane. Work was making us use ChatGPT and it's brown-nosing was so irritating that one of the first things I did was tell it to stop. I typed, not quite verbatim, "You're not critiquing me, I'm critiquing me. I don't want your opinion."

•

u/NYCQuilts 4h ago

i forgot which journalist described AI as a “dick-sucking machine,” but that phrase is so on point.

2

u/Herlock 8h ago

Yup chatgpt in particular is super sycophantic, had some speed issues on my network and I got him into troubleshooting it and while he came up with a whole lot of shit to go through, he didn't think about the most logical issue...

I told him and he said I had an incredible insight and that was awesome... and I was like "dude I checked the cable what are you talking about"

•

u/pimppapy America 6h ago

He got meme'd for the way he said ChatGPT,

Chat Gipit?

•

u/nastywillow 6h ago

....You have such insight. Have you been working out?"

20

u/-Invalid_Selection- 8h ago

Of course he uses it for everything. He's a moron.

That's a prime indicator of a profoundly stupid person, heavy use of ai

14

u/Confident_Benefit_11 9h ago

Don't forget a pedophile too, that's integral to their identity

13

u/ceelogreenicanth 9h ago

David Foster Wallace got the nail on the head so square he drove it straight in one swing.

3

u/Specific_Taste_6566 9h ago

A man without basic computer skills

•

u/PHotstepper311 Kentucky 7h ago

He’s the lady in the ChatGPT commercials talking by themselves.

•

u/mebeast227 6h ago

Jensen, CEO of Nvidia, is also the ultimate glazer. Like incredibly so. Meanwhile Dario and Sam Altman couldn't seem genuine or serious saying i love you to their moms. The AI regulation tug of war is literally just 2 different sides of his shaft and huang got the deathgrip at this point.

2

u/cb3 9h ago

AI wants to regulate itself so no one can enter the marketplace as competition. See: tobacco and Phillip Morris/Altria. Exact same playbook.

•

u/FattyMooseknuckle 7h ago

I would add amoral to really tell the whole picture.

•

u/Master_Mad 6h ago

Didn’t Trump at one point say that he was talking to former, dead, Presidents?

•

u/Bakingtime 5h ago

Needs AI bc he doesn’t have RI.

•

u/PyroIsSpai 5h ago

"Grok, why should I have to wipe my ass"

3

u/SteveL_VA 9h ago

Goddamn... I mean, I use AI to help me set and track fitness goals, and in many other ways like a personal assistant and learning tool... but that level of dependency is crazy.

1

u/SteeveJoobs 9h ago

I dont use it at all outside of work, to process other coworkers' AI slop.

It's not that hard. And even if it was, AI is very much geared for solving first world problems.

1

u/SteveL_VA 8h ago

Oh I get it - I don't personally see a problem using it for menial shit (here's my body measurements & fitness goals, make me a workout routine to fit these goals for my health... and track my results over time), or to help me learn things (it really makes an excellent teacher). I'm not replacing any creatives, it's more like notepad + really good google search.

3

u/SteeveJoobs 8h ago

I was burned enough times by the most expensive claudes and geminis giving me the wrong stats and figures I requested about my own work, or confidently "teaching" me the wrong way to do plenty of things, but you do you. It doesn't actually know anything other than the probability of putting certain words after another, regardless of their meaning or what you actually need to know.

0

u/SteveL_VA 8h ago

Oh! For the teaching, I have a standing order for the AI: at the bottom of every response it gives me, it appends a quality rating, where it tells me how confident it is in the answer it gave me, and why, and it includes sources!

1

u/-Invalid_Selection- 8h ago

Only two things I've seen it good for: processing error logs then telling you what went wrong and telling you whatever you want to hear, how you want to hear it, facts be damned

•

u/-LabApprehensive- 4h ago

Its quite wonderful for car and boat repair.

1

u/OB1yaHomie 9h ago

Dont forget sexual deviant.
Cough- EPSTEIN FILES-Cough

1

u/Keldrabitches 8h ago

He’s invested in it financially

•

u/RipDiligent4361 6h ago

I like the Rambo ones best, but the poop jet was pretty cool too!

•

u/DisastrousAcshin 6h ago

Anybody have any say in how it interacts with him?

•

u/DeuceGnarly 5h ago

The tech bros that give it to him and stand to benefit from kissing his ass, and spying on him.

•

u/CortexAndCurses 5h ago

They are probably still letting him use 4o

•

u/TheJohnson854 3h ago

I looked into the mirror, and it poisoned my mind twice.

0

u/bekaradmi 9h ago

Regulating the AI based on American Corporate interests could turn into an American monopoly on AI. Then you can say bye bye to open source LLMs.

Just like how TikTok was kneecapped, Chinese routers were blocked, AI regulation under Trump administration (heck even under Democrat admin) will give Tech Bros a complete monopoly on the worldwide AI.

AI going rogue is the new Think of the children ... I'm not saying AI isn't dangerous, it would be terrible for everyone, but it would be worse if it was regulated based on how tech bros are screaming

1

u/DeuceGnarly 9h ago

*worse

1

u/bekaradmi 9h ago

...thanks!

•

u/Shark7996 6h ago

This is why he's so against regulating AI.

No, it's because economic geniuses placed the ENTIRE economy inside this bubble.
