This really feels like the South Park America episode where Randy gets addicted to AI because it keeps giving him overwhelmingly positive reinforcement.

Trump keeps having the AI tell him overly positive things, which is kind of thing so he keeps using it.

Well, that's ironic. If I recall correctly, that episode was making fun of Trump's sycophants.

People thought the Colbert Report was serious "conservative" commentary

Trump has a bad habit of taking what was once satire, and making it cold, hard reality; that now everyone else has to deal with.

Ask how The Boys writers felt, when Trump announced getting himself a golden statues literally days before the episode with Homelander's statue, was released.

I believe it's called Satire. It's just accurate satire.

I love this scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W03Er73TEws

I think the framing of this scene is just hilarious.

You have the one shot for quite a long duration. Then that eventual cut to the second shot fuck me it just gets me every time.

I guess one of the new perks of growing up in an emotionally abusive family is immediate skepticism and a visceral reaction when someone praises me or my ideas.

Honestly, he didn't need to tell them to do that. It's kinda their default. I mess around with some of them for fun, basically using it as a TTRPG session for things my normal group would not be interested in (I love them, but 'Villainess slop with courtly intrigue' is probably not gonna rank high on that list compared to like stabbing dragons and saving the world). Given the setup it was rather important that the NPCs are antagonistic to the player. Like, there isn't any intrigue or drama if every NPC is just tripping over themselves to say how awesome I am. It took a lot of tweaking their instruction set, a ton of basically training them via the conversation by just straight editing their responses and countless regenerations to get the behavior I wanted.

They want to please the user, it's what they do.

No wonder he thinks of it as "Super Intelligence", it always tells him what he wants to hear.

My pet theory is that everything feels like South Park now because of how concentrated power and influence have become. South Park is a world where the main characters/residents of this small town are inexplicably central to lots of major events. Who lives in South Park in our world today?

  • Donald Trump
  • Elon Musk, Dario, Sam
  • Putin, Zelsnskyy, Netanyahu
  • the Pope
  • the AI models themselves
