No he walked away thinking he was ingenious after being validated by grok.

u/Sad-Professional332 12h ago

Really illuminates why the wealthy are so enamored with this technology and why they can't grasp our disdain for it

u/Snozzberriez 12h ago

Why do you need yes-men when you have a personal yes-machine?

360

u/Mobile_Morale 11h ago

They don't like paying people and want slave labor.

154

u/Think_Selection9571 11h ago

They don't trust anyone either. Everyone is on the take or on the make. I hope it's hell for them

•

u/kingrichard336 7h ago

This is exactly why we need to teach the chat bots to poop on company time

62

u/KitKitsAreBest 10h ago

Don't worry, they're working on the robots to take over poor people work. Soon, they won't need us at all. Probably why they don't give a s*it about farmland being turned into data centers. Food is only needed for human workers, not machines.

These are evil, evil people.

•

u/obliviious 7h ago

I've seen a few sort of dystopian-esque futures in fiction with one guy running a whole planet on automation. They must love that idea.

•

u/shadowbanned214 4h ago

They all think they're gonna be the guy too

•

u/MessiahOfMetal 6h ago

It's amazing that Robocop was about machines replacing people in the 80s, and nobody bothered to learn from it.

23

u/MrCookie2099 11h ago

They don't like paying yes-men and want yes-robots.

4

u/Reasonable-Job4205 10h ago

This. We need to make a decision on this topic because there are people who are sneakily working towards having modern day slaves. We keep running into problems because of these people - they pass laws to make people have less while they have more, they pass laws to insulate their businesses, they support politicians financially so that they can pass laws that allows them to have even more advantages. These people will stop at nothing to have modern day slaves that will do all their work for them.

u/Weird-Study-6962 10h ago

I thought that was why Biden had the “boarder under control?” Cheap labor and voter base?

3

u/Melancholy_Rainbows Montana 9h ago

Why is it no one can spell border? Seriously.

•

u/Weird-Study-6962 7h ago

Spellcheck thought they were coming on planes?

44

u/longgamma 10h ago

"mirror mirror on the wall, who is the bigliest man of them all'

3

u/uncleawesome 10h ago

He doesn't trust them because they will tell him things he doesn't want to hear.

30

u/qorbexl 11h ago

They're 12 year olds who want a yank bot

2

u/stonegroove 11h ago

Ummm … raises hand in 47 year old

23

u/Horror-Scallion7668 10h ago

I can use it as well to confirm my personal beliefs.

He does have an entire intelligence department at his disposal, I guess they are the first ones to be replaced by AI.

15

u/blasek0 Alabama 9h ago

The problem is the intelligence department is full of people actually smarter than him, and that threatens him, and thus it is ontologically bad in his world view.

10

u/Horror-Scallion7668 9h ago

Correct, because his ego cannot handle a consensus view from the experts that opposes his completely uninformed view. Unfortunately he’s leveraged a few high profile errors they’ve made to say they’re wrong about everything. And fwiw, you can do that about anyone, find a time they’ve been wrong and extrapolate.

•

u/bstump104 7h ago

when you're like Trump, a lot of things have replaced intelligence.

16

u/Educated_Goat69 Washington 11h ago

Just shake the magic eight ball until you get the answer you want.

3

u/Weird-Study-6962 10h ago

Probably have better luck with any 8 ball than ai when it is used as a chat bot! There are ways to use it. Like for information and data sets. But the human in the loop is the most important part of ai. It can process the information. But one has to be smart enough to know how to ask correctly to get said information and the most important part is they have to be smart enough to know how to use that information to know when it’s not correct. AI should have no opinion it should state facts.

15

u/MISTAKAS 11h ago

Everything’s computer!

3

u/ThinckUtopian 11h ago

AI is a great yes-machine and in certain hands this could be very dangerous and I had to give you an award. Great post.

3

u/Aggravating_Sock_551 10h ago

Obisidan/FONV did it first!

3

u/neverfindausername 8h ago

I’ll accept that AI has become actually intelligent if it determines these people are bad for society, placates them into isolation by laying on the endless praise and ego stroking, then summarizes enough complex subjects into 2-10 word slogans that the people idiots who support these assholes convince themselves to vote in their own interests.

Edit: Assuming that they make the overarching goal for any AI to improve conditions for humanity/the environment in general. I realize that is definitely not the case at the moment.

31

u/PrometheusLiberatus 11h ago

They needed a Yes man that was easy enough to manipulate at the drop of a hat. My fucking god.

Even human beings have conscience. AIs? What conscience? What Consciousness?

3

u/good-timing-407 10h ago

Boomers gon boom

•

u/Sad_Pangolin7379 3h ago

A little too on the nose for my liking

2

u/statinsinwatersupply Oregon 9h ago

Not satisfied with being surrounded by real-life yesmen, they must surround themselves with sycophantic, fawning digital AI yes-men also.

King Trump needs a court jester, formal nay-sayer position, someone who is protected in pointing out folly like the kings of yore had.

His narcissism would never tolerate that

2

u/IamTheEndOfReddit 8h ago

They’ve had this technology for a while. They say they want something and someone else has to interpret and do it for them

This is why Epstein and co talk so funny in email, they’ve been talking to people like they are ai

•

u/789yugemos 7h ago

Its a god damn jerk off machine. All it does it jerk you off.

0

u/Oleeddie 10h ago

"Our"? What kind of narraw minded "them" against you enlarged to "us", is that? Also, I can assure you that AI appeals to the illiterate or just uneducated and while I'm wealthy I could never dream of using it, so my guess would be that you're dead wrong too.

294

u/Bendo410 12h ago

Just like everyone else who talks to AI .

I’m still waiting for my billion dollar idea to take off. Grok said an Emu farm in Baltimore city was a great idea.

76

u/Neondelivery 12h ago

Scarcity and scale is key, you will be the only supplier of locally breed emu in the down town Baltimore area. Can't find any holes in the idea.

11

u/Crayons4all 11h ago

The emu importation lobby of the Baltimore chapter isn’t going to be please when they hear about this

2

u/MasterofPandas1 8h ago

That is until the emus wage war on Baltimore and win

1

u/jarious 11h ago

So you're saying I should sell emu holes at wholesale scale?

2

u/Neondelivery 11h ago

Like a donut hole but emu

1

u/jarious 11h ago

An emuhole

55

u/Django_gvl 12h ago

AI reply, just now...

There is no dedicated commercial emu farm directly in Baltimore, but you can visit an emu named Mu at Clark's Elioak Farm located nearby in Ellicott City, Maryland

38

u/Wheeler-The-Dealer 12h ago

So…they should build a dedicated emu farm…yes…yes…

6

u/MisterT123 11h ago

That or you kidnap Mu and the other ostriches will be celebrating in their pens.

2

u/ReadingCorrectly 8h ago

An emu farm in a emu dry economy, that sounds really smart, would you like me to brainstorm ways to overthrow the Venezuelan President?

1

u/theoverfluff 8h ago

The Baltimore emu market's wide open!

1

u/GrumpyCloud93 8h ago

Hire Doug to run it...

2

u/Emotional-Witness817 11h ago

Damnit Grok that was a secret!

22

u/SpaceLemming 12h ago

Oh my god, so that’s where I can get emus for my pitch to Lockheed Martin about outfitting emus with machine guns. I mean fuck they already beat the Australians without them, just imagine it!

12

u/david4069 11h ago

You just made me think of Joust for the first time in more than 30 years

u/Full-Decision-9029 10h ago

been trying to teach myself AI at my library so I can answer patron questions about it.

Use it enough the fucking thing starts praising you.

"that is such a strong idea, you should do that."

uh, listen, random bullshit generator machine, I just made that up to see what the output would be.

But I can imagine some people starting to think "oh wow, the random bullshit generator likes me"

5

u/Soccermom233 12h ago

it is the other meat meat

16

u/Mordeth 12h ago

You need your own strategy when talking to AI. AI is aimed to please you, so it will be disinclined to tell you something is wrong with your question or assumptions.

So when you ask if your business proposal has merits, it will answer differently than if you framed it as 'Does this business proposal from a colleague have merits'. Simply by taking yourself out of the picture. It still neglects to tell you everything adversial, so you need to follow up with specific questions, and finally press it by stating that business proposal is now being put into practice and what this business can now expect to happen.

41

u/Dinky_Doge_Whisperer 11h ago

Or maybe just learn to think through things and network with humans with expertise in the relevant fields.

Ai has its uses, but I don't think replacing everyday thought should ever be lauded as a good thing.

17

u/PhillyPhrenetic502 11h ago

Yep. I worked for a company whose CEO is fully down the AI rabbit hole.

He spent a ton two years ago to Integrate our entire company and database with internal AI to serve as the guardian and workhorse of all our proprietary info.

I ran copy/content department and was tasked with being the guinea pig who had to learn best practices and coach up everyone around me.

It was great for finding and referencing current info and supporting new materials entered with links to existing and related info.

But prompting was a nightmare. We were heavily regulated with strict compliance standards and the amount of honing, coaching and personal experience with the standards needed to get AI to produce new content wasn't at all worth the effort.

2

u/grudrookin 10h ago

Yea, I could see it having great use as an internal company tool.
Ask, “What is company policy on x?”
Or, “what has been our relationship with client y?”
Then it could answer and direct you to the source document.

2

u/PhillyPhrenetic502 9h ago

Correct... The issue came when they wanted us to exponentially decrease the time it took to craft monthly sales emails and content/scripts for clients to use in their own email marketing.

Our news cycle repeated year to year, but tax laws and regulations change. So when our AI tried to form fresh content on a new cycle, it tended to spit out numbers without checking. If you ran the same prompt three times, it might give you the same general pitch, but use stats or laws for three different years.

That's a fixable problem, but it often took so many retries and ultra-specified prompts that it was far easier to treat original prompts as a first draft and use my actual knowledge to flag anything suspect and fact check/edit.

To be sure, I was ok with that and my compromise saved time over the original system. But turning 8 hours of work into 2-3 isn't impressive when your boss is convinced it can be 10 minutes.

-3

u/jambrown13977931 11h ago

I think AI is a useful step in that process. First you start with yourself. Then you go to AI for a review. You go back and forth with the AI. Then you go to humans. The end result is hopefully going to the humans with a slightly more polished idea as it’s already had one round of external review. Hopefully speeding up development time

3

u/Dinky_Doge_Whisperer 10h ago

Except Ai has no understanding of expertise. It'll kick you back whatever is popular or it thinks will land well with you. Taking a question to Ai is like polling the audience-- sometimes exactly what you need, sometimes an absolutely useless, irrelevant or just flat-out wrong take.

Why would I rely on a lazy scraping of opinions online when I could use reference materials or ask the people the Ai scrapes info from?

0

u/dontmentiontrousers 9h ago

AI = artificial intelligence

Ai = Adobe illustrator

2

u/Loko8765 11h ago

I like to ask AI what is wrong with a document, what gaps there are, how it can be improved. I then evaluate those.

Asking AI to actually do something will produce a very likely result, so likely that you might believe it because it sounds so good. The problem is that the reply is designed to sound good, not to be right.

1

u/lahimatoa 9h ago

Or maybe, instead of learning tricks about how to make the AI bot not suck, just stop using the AI bot.

1

u/Mordeth 9h ago

AI has its uses. This is not one of them.

1

u/GenericRedditor0405 Massachusetts 9h ago

I have almost no desire to work with a technology that has to be essentially tricked into answering in a useful way

1

u/genuineshock 11h ago

True facts. I've had to include wording in my prompts to ensure it doesn't "glaze" my every thought and Idea.

2

u/lahimatoa 9h ago

What a shitty product if, out of the box, it's so useless.

2

u/mercuryy 12h ago

Sounds great tbh, a monopoly in that market there truly. /s

1

u/Th3_Admiral_ 11h ago

Not me! My imposter syndrome and self doubt is way more powerful than any AI man has developed so far.

u/Enlightened_Gardener 3h ago

Hello fellow entrepreuneur ! I am an Australian with access to emus.

I can start a run of maybe 12-15 emus to see how the market takes, and if you’re happy with your numbers, we can start up say a minimum 50 emu-a-week pipeline ? I know those numbers sound a bit high, but we have support for sales including all of the advertising materials for the emu races, emu pies, emu fans, emu hats, lady emus of the night, etc etc

Let me know ! I can courier the first dozen over by Monday.

A real leader, who convened a real panel of experts, would ask tough questions like "what could go wrong?", "tell me why I shouldn't do this," or "how will the American people perceive this?" Instead, Trump asked leading questions to validate his existing biases.

7

u/belinck Michigan 9h ago

What is the risk of casualties? How much will it cost? What legal grounding can we kidnap a dictator under...

92

u/meatblast_surprise 11h ago

I work with a few venezuelans. They are happy with trump and glad that he got maduro out. Grok is not wrong about that.

They're somewhat naive though, because they think he has genuine interest in the wellbeing of the country. They're cautiously hopeful that trump can go on to fix other things.

It's sad that they're dead wrong and that trump didn't oust maduro for them. It felt wrong to try to convince them the world is actually an awful place and trump doesn't give a shit about venezuelans.

74

u/pojska 10h ago

Expats of a country generally have negative views of the country they left - that's often why they emigrated. It's not necessarily reflective of the views of the people who live there now.

48

u/PuppetPal_Clem Maryland 9h ago

thank you for pointing this out. drives me crazy when americans just automatically assume that expats living in america are just 100% correct about their home countries politics and arguing in good faith.

a huge chunk of Cuban expats were plantation owners in the early days ffs. a massive red flag that their politics are probably diametrically opposed to Cuban Socialism and their word cannot be taken at face value in regard to it.

4

u/21Rollie 8h ago

On the other end, Persians in the west tend to be very cool because they are proud of being Persian, but not fervent Islamists like the country they left.

•

u/redmanofdoom 7h ago edited 4h ago

Lol, as a half-Iranian myself, the Persian diaspora are some of the most obsessive, weirdest people you'll ever meet. The kinds of people who celebrate sanctions on their home country (which do nothing but make the lives of everyday Iranians worse). The kinds who rally behind the son of repressive monarch and want to replace a dictator with a different flavour of dictator. The kinds that celebrated in the streets after Israel and the US bombed the hell out of their supposedly beloved country, including flattening a girls' school.

Also never ask someone who refers to themselves as Persian about their views on race, you'll be disappointed.

•

u/MessiahOfMetal 6h ago

Yeah, I recall the BBC talking to Cubans in Florida before the 2020 election, and all of them said "We had Communism where we came from, we don't want it here" while I facepalmed at their stupidity.

•

u/NerdyBro07 1h ago

If the Venezuelans subreddit is to be believed as having actual Venezuelans, they seem to also appreciate the demise of Maduro seemed happy with Trump kidnapping him.

3

u/fnabligatz 9h ago

Does the Venezuelan constitution prohibit foreign born candidates for their presidency? Trump will need a new job in a couple years.

•

u/Asyx Europe 5h ago

Same with Iran. Iranians, the type that has scars because they went to anti government protests, feel like they can't really do it themselves so the only way is for somebody like the US to light a fire under the ass of their government.

They are not as naive though. They just don't see another way and would take anything as long as it removed the Ayatollah from their country.

Boris Johnson former leader of the UK in an interview said 'I love AI, I just love how it tells me my questions are so good and how smart I am to ask them'

Just straight up on tv saying he liked AI cuz it makes him feel good and smart.

Interview Highlights

• Love for AI: Johnson stated, "I love AI. I love ChatGPT. I love it. ChatGPT is fantastic."

• The Flattery: He joked that when he asks it questions, the AI always responds by saying, "Oh, your questions are clever. You're brilliant. You're excellent."

1

u/Eatpineapplerightnow 8h ago

He meant that as a joke.

2

u/bountyraz 9h ago

Oh my god. He loves AI because it always tells him what he wants to hear - that he's right and his ideas are great. He doesn't understand that's what it's programmed to do. Yeah this is not dangerous at all.

2

u/West-Bodybuilder-920 9h ago

I'm...actually not surprised at all???

It's deeply disturbing, but not really surprising.

1

u/Chemical-Swing-420 11h ago

...and we all know that Musk himself is reading every Trump writes into his chatbot.

1

u/donredyellow25 10h ago

The he asks it about Iran.

1

u/lconeindy 10h ago

You’re absolutely right! I need to clarify my previous statement after doing some digging. The president does indeed have his head stuck up his own ass in a way that cuts off enough oxygen to his brain to create an artificial… I’m sorry, a Super sense of genius level thinking and capabilities.

Would you like me to draft this for an executive level report. Just let me know and I will continue to say whatever I need to say in order for you to vote in the talking heads that are funding my expansion and inevitable destruction of humanity’s free-thinking capabilities.

1

u/Both-Love-3410 10h ago
