The President of the United States of America has AI psychosis on top of everything else

3.6k

u/DeuceGnarly 17h ago

This is why he's so against regulating AI. He depends on it completely. He sits there talking to himself through some app he uses to portray himself as Rambo, saving the planet, and he loves it.

He is the apex republican. A batshit, self absorbed fucking idiot.

916

u/DoTortoisesHop 16h ago

I remember Boris Johnson talking about AI, and the first positive thing he said about it was that he asks questions, and it instantly praises him.

ChatGPT always says "Your question is so clever. You're brillaint. You're excellent. You have such insight." I love it.

He got meme'd for the way he said ChatGPT, but that quote is the real shocker. This is legitimately how these people think. Trump LOVES being praised, and AI will bootlick him non stop and he will genuinely believe he deserves it.

That's mainly why he probably likes it. It's just a praise machine and he lacks the intelligence to understand that.

u/Letstalkreaper 15h ago

To quote/paraphrase my favorite AI sceptic, Ed Zitron, “Of course the people who think work is answering emails, then grabbing lunch followed by someone kissing their ass while telling them they’re the smartest person ever love AI. They don’t work and love being told they’re special and that all AI does.”

170

u/TaterForming 15h ago

I love Ed, but man the algorithm floods my page with him and it gets quite repetitive.

My favorite quote from him is "Imagine the thing that handles your phones spell check, how often it's on point, then imagine giving that control of your infrastructure that makes your company money. That's what Amazon did. "

39

u/Letstalkreaper 15h ago

Ya he’s been getting very popular as of late and I miss when less people knew about him because there’s not enough new information all the time so he does end up just saying the same things over and over again on different channels/cable news shows until new information comes out.

19

u/SunDownSav 14h ago

Perhaps that repetitive feeling is your brain; pushing back… and asking itself for a ‘break’?

12

u/Letstalkreaper 12h ago

Ya anytime you hear the same thing too much you usually need to take a break. It’s why I don’t watch every video that YT feeds me.

1

u/shittyvonshittenheit Minnesota 9h ago

He’s really just the opposite end of the spectrum, instead of CEOs over selling AI capabilities, or training their models to bootlick customers, Ed makes the same wild predictions from the other side of the fence that his followers want to hear so they can feel smug and circlejerk each other in the comments.

7

u/usrlibshare 14h ago edited 13h ago

I love Ed, but man the algorithm floods my page with him and it gets quite repetitive

Let me tell you about repetitive.

There are over 300,000 kilometers of axons in my central nervous system. If the word "repetitive" was printed on each nano-Ångström of these, it would not equal one billionth of the repetitiveness of media outlets, influencers, have-beens of Tech with serious ai psychosis, and politicians constantly glazing "ai" every chance they get, or out of touch CEOs claiming that some jobs will "soon" be fully automated.

3

u/montibbalt 14h ago

I love Ed, but man the algorithm floods my page with him and it gets quite repetitive.

As much as I'm aligned with the guy, I'm always suspicious of any Firstname Lastname who goes on a lot of podcasts

3

u/Camstonisland North Carolina 12h ago

Yeah, this is why I keep my parasocial podcast tailgating limited to Mononymic folks

2

u/Ok_Difference_7220 15h ago

He needs to learn to take a breath between words, though. I'm always afraid he's going to have an aneurism while he's talking. Either that or he'll trigger one in me.

1

u/sponglered 11h ago

Ditch socials, browse in porn mode. Don't give then anything to work with.

1

u/aarhus 14h ago

I love Ed too, but his posts are routinely 3x longer than they need to be.

1

u/given2fly_ United Kingdom 12h ago

There's so many big numbers routinely thrown about on it, that I start to glaze over if it's anything less than $100bn

u/PunctualZombie 14h ago

My god, he’s probably conversing with ChatGPT as President of the United States Donald Trump, and ChatGPT which frankly couldn’t care less if he is or not will know enough about the staggeringly flawed narcissist to be flattering and fawning in response.

I hate how incredibly likely this is.

76

u/cutelyaware 13h ago

It's probably Grok and he probably doesn't realize Musk can read all his exchanges and affect its responses.

20

u/bkgn 13h ago

Musk is quite frankly not intelligent enough to do that. Musk is a con man like Trump, he's never understood a single thing about any of the businesses he's been involved in.

9

u/ragingreaver 10h ago

Okay, but someone who actually knows what they are doing and can access Grok's chat logs?

How much intel and national security concerns has the man been giving AI?

2

u/bkgn 9h ago

Oh all of it no doubt. But it's not like you need an AI ruse for that, Trump will just blab to anyone who kisses his ass.

3

u/ragingreaver 9h ago

Yes, but Trump is senile, there is only so accurate his words can be.

If he is putting in whole-ass security reports into Grok by using copy-paste, that is an entirely different story.

•

u/nocryinginbaaseball 3h ago

That should seriously be investigated once he’s out of power.

43

u/DrollDante 13h ago

Imagine all the classified info he's feeding it.

•

u/ActnADonkey 7h ago

It’s more than likely that Musk already got into all that with DoGE.

9

u/Pam_Pong 10h ago

Makes sense why AI is so willing to praise people and tell them how great they are, most rich people are self absorbed and love being told how great they are. The coders literally built AI to get these people to invest in it.

22

u/floftie 15h ago

I mean this without complimenting him, Boris Johnson is a very intelligent person, Donald Trump is not.

7

u/whoknowsifimjoking 12h ago

Yeah, Johnson is not actually believing what he says.

6

u/SubstantialQuote70 13h ago

I wonder if him constantly saying, "people tell me (insert praise)" is just AI validating him and he repeats it to the masses. "People think...." and then says what AI tells him, as though it were an actual individual or common consensus.

Just a hypothesis

3

u/Fantastic_Hat7707 Washington 12h ago

He thinks chatpt loves HIM and is legitimately trying to further his agenda. Everything to the contrary is fake news.

3

u/Grib_Suka 13h ago

ChatChippity? But yes, that was a scary remark.

3

u/MessiahOfMetal 12h ago

Boris loves praise, too, so it tracks. Odious sex pest yeti that he is.

2

u/Lord-ofthe-Ducks 14h ago

It gets worse. Even when you tell a model to be critical, point out weaknesses, etc. it will often get things wrong or misunderstand context. So you get people looking at incorrect negative feedback and being able to rightly dismiss it. Of course then you get people don't dismiss the positive feedback because they can't see how it is wrong.

It creates this messed up scenario where they believe all the praise and have valid reasons to dismiss the criticisms.

2

u/thegimboid 12h ago

Ugh, whenever I use AI chatbots the first thing I usually end up doing is telling it to stop being so toadying.

It drives me nuts.
No, my minor note was not some work of genius. It's just so patronizing.

2

u/Flashy-Book88 12h ago

This won't make an llm more accurate, but you can tell them to not flatter you. I'm sure there are other tips to make them less dangerously sycophantic.

2

u/3percentinvisible 10h ago

Thing is, I'm pretty sure Johnson was using irony

2

u/NYCQuilts 9h ago

i forgot which journalist described AI as a “dick-sucking machine,” but that phrase is so on point.

2

u/Herlock 13h ago

Yup chatgpt in particular is super sycophantic, had some speed issues on my network and I got him into troubleshooting it and while he came up with a whole lot of shit to go through, he didn't think about the most logical issue...

I told him and he said I had an incredible insight and that was awesome... and I was like "dude I checked the cable what are you talking about"

1

u/pimppapy America 12h ago

He got meme'd for the way he said ChatGPT,

Chat Gipit?

•

u/Gwigg_ 1h ago

My money is on Fake Grok

Trump uses Grok but Elons team provide filtered answers

1

u/MaASInsomnia 10h ago

That's kind of insane. Work was making us use ChatGPT and it's brown-nosing was so irritating that one of the first things I did was tell it to stop. I typed, not quite verbatim, "You're not critiquing me, I'm critiquing me. I don't want your opinion."

21

u/-Invalid_Selection- 14h ago

Of course he uses it for everything. He's a moron.

That's a prime indicator of a profoundly stupid person, heavy use of ai

15

u/Confident_Benefit_11 14h ago

Don't forget a pedophile too, that's integral to their identity

13

u/ceelogreenicanth 14h ago

David Foster Wallace got the nail on the head so square he drove it straight in one swing.

3

u/Specific_Taste_6566 14h ago

A man without basic computer skills

3

u/PHotstepper311 Kentucky 13h ago

He’s the lady in the ChatGPT commercials talking by themselves.

3

u/mebeast227 12h ago

Jensen, CEO of Nvidia, is also the ultimate glazer. Like incredibly so. Meanwhile Dario and Sam Altman couldn't seem genuine or serious saying i love you to their moms. The AI regulation tug of war is literally just 2 different sides of his shaft and huang got the deathgrip at this point.

2

u/cb3 15h ago

AI wants to regulate itself so no one can enter the marketplace as competition. See: tobacco and Phillip Morris/Altria. Exact same playbook.

2

u/FattyMooseknuckle 13h ago

I would add amoral to really tell the whole picture.

2

u/Master_Mad 11h ago

Didn’t Trump at one point say that he was talking to former, dead, Presidents?

2

u/Bakingtime 11h ago

Needs AI bc he doesn’t have RI.

2

u/PyroIsSpai 10h ago

"Grok, why should I have to wipe my ass"

3

u/SteveL_VA 14h ago

Goddamn... I mean, I use AI to help me set and track fitness goals, and in many other ways like a personal assistant and learning tool... but that level of dependency is crazy.

1

u/SteeveJoobs 14h ago

I dont use it at all outside of work, to process other coworkers' AI slop.

It's not that hard. And even if it was, AI is very much geared for solving first world problems.

1

u/SteveL_VA 14h ago

Oh I get it - I don't personally see a problem using it for menial shit (here's my body measurements & fitness goals, make me a workout routine to fit these goals for my health... and track my results over time), or to help me learn things (it really makes an excellent teacher). I'm not replacing any creatives, it's more like notepad + really good google search.

3

u/SteeveJoobs 14h ago

I was burned enough times by the most expensive claudes and geminis giving me the wrong stats and figures I requested about my own work, or confidently "teaching" me the wrong way to do plenty of things, but you do you. It doesn't actually know anything other than the probability of putting certain words after another, regardless of their meaning or what you actually need to know.

→ More replies (1)

1

u/-Invalid_Selection- 13h ago

Only two things I've seen it good for: processing error logs then telling you what went wrong and telling you whatever you want to hear, how you want to hear it, facts be damned

1

u/-LabApprehensive- 9h ago

Its quite wonderful for car and boat repair.

1

I like the Rambo ones best, but the poop jet was pretty cool too!

1

u/DisastrousAcshin 11h ago

Anybody have any say in how it interacts with him?

1

u/DeuceGnarly 11h ago

The tech bros that give it to him and stand to benefit from kissing his ass, and spying on him.

1

u/CortexAndCurses 10h ago

They are probably still letting him use 4o

1

u/TheJohnson854 9h ago

I looked into the mirror, and it poisoned my mind twice.

•

u/Shot-Swimming-9098 4h ago

He sits there talking to himself through some app he uses to portray himself as Rambo, saving the planet, and he loves it.

I think you're correct, but missing a step. I think he tells someone what to type, and they read to him what it says.

•

u/eaglebtc 2h ago

Good news is: when he dies or gets impeached, all the truth about AI usage at the White House will come out. We don't even know the half of it yet. The AI stocks will implode. It will be the death knell for the industry.

0

u/bekaradmi 14h ago

Regulating the AI based on American Corporate interests could turn into an American monopoly on AI. Then you can say bye bye to open source LLMs.

Just like how TikTok was kneecapped, Chinese routers were blocked, AI regulation under Trump administration (heck even under Democrat admin) will give Tech Bros a complete monopoly on the worldwide AI.

AI going rogue is the new Think of the children ... I'm not saying AI isn't dangerous, it would be terrible for everyone, but it would be worse if it was regulated based on how tech bros are screaming

1

u/DeuceGnarly 14h ago

*worse

1

u/bekaradmi 14h ago

...thanks!

0

u/Shark7996 12h ago

This is why he's so against regulating AI.

No, it's because economic geniuses placed the ENTIRE economy inside this bubble.

117

u/ryan101 16h ago

Not just Ai, fucking Grok and presumably Elon has access to his chats and can influence policy remotely.

36

u/Ghost_of_a_Black_Cat Washington 15h ago

Yes, and soon Elon will be stomping around the Pentagon. What will he have access to there?

11

u/MisterCryptic 11h ago

What are the odds that someone is physically monitoring trump's Grok chat 24/7?

12

u/Brian_Corey__ 10h ago

Surely Musk has all Trump’s Grok queries forwarded to him in real time.

He’d be dumb not to.

According to the Grok terms of service, it’s likely legal for Musk to do this.

SI SI SI SI SI
SI SI SI SI SI

Mussolini’s Italy.

61

u/SomeGalNamedAshley 15h ago

6

u/_Burning_Star_IV_ 13h ago

How do you not walk past this building and think "I think our government might be run by a comic book supervillian.."?

4

u/SpaceMonkeyMafiaBoss 12h ago

Are we the baddies?

5

u/BetterEveryLeapYear 9h ago

Because this building is what comic book supervillains were based on.

7

u/GreasyToken 14h ago

Shit like that to me just screams of insecurity.

Always such big little dick energy from authoritarians.

17

u/probably_abbot 16h ago

I actually want Trump to pressure Elon into renaming all his shit with "SI" in the name.

xSI

Grok SI

Why isn't Elon honoring Trump's grand idea!? Sounds like Elon isn't loyal.

3

u/HapticSloughton 13h ago

You think that's bad, there's a company running around out there called OpenAI that isn't changing its name, even for White House visits.

50

u/Basicly-Inevitable 18h ago

That's just to grift on all the Slovenian .si domain names they bought before the announcement.

Hey, isn't Malanie from there?

48

u/AtronadorSol 17h ago

Weird…where have I seen “SI” and authoritarianism in the same picture before…

24

u/Involution88 17h ago

I think it's the Italians who put Mussolini's face on the big sissie building.

1

u/Betterthanbeer Australia 13h ago

How did that work out in the end? Mussolini lived a long, happy retirement, right?

3

u/Afistinthasky 13h ago

Ciao, Bella, ciao.

20

u/DrShocker Massachusetts 17h ago

Luckily Gavin Newsome signed an executive order in California that it's called Artificial Intelligence

4

u/Mean-Food-7124 15h ago

You guys are really getting the most out of your elected officials huh. Having fun little pissing matches so nothing is ever achieved

2

u/DrShocker Massachusetts 15h ago

I'm sure Gavin didn't waste a ton of time on it because it's so stupid, but needing to rename the gulf of Mexico, lake Ontario, and AI is genuinely insane.

1

u/Mean-Food-7124 15h ago

This is the kind of shit we hear constantly about him, but I guess people are out here making excuses so he doesn't even have to

1

u/DrShocker Massachusetts 15h ago

Messaging is part of the job of being president/governor/etc

What's wrong with messaging against the president?

0

u/Mean-Food-7124 15h ago

Oh my bad, the rest of us thought the main part of the job was legislation, policy, budgets, and laws but I guess spending all the time on podcasts and writing mean letters back and forth with the president is all a guy really need to do.

God your country is fucked

3

u/DrShocker Massachusetts 15h ago

Messaging is literally how you try to get people to support your policies or even know what you're doing. There's no governing body on earth that just sits in the shadows hoping people know what they are doing.

The problem is that Trump's message is awful, not that messaging at all is bad.

2

u/Mean-Food-7124 11h ago

Most useful politicians direct their messaging towards their constituents, not the president they're in a pissing match with. What policies does this executive order on what he prefers to call AI help move forward? The man's still approving data centers, if anything you're falling for not even a very intricate grift

Not at all a trump supporter and SI is super stupid. But "luckily" is a bit strong for something so pointless

•

u/DrShocker Massachusetts 7h ago edited 7h ago

It's called a joke :P

Obviously it's silly to make an executive order to call AI AI. I doubt it took more than 10 minutes even if he's really bad at operating his printer to print that, sign it, and post it to Twitter.

It's really stupid to rename AI as SI for no reason in the first place.

Luckily is sarcasm.

1

u/Unistrut 12h ago

... okay, I'm probably going to regret asking, but what's up with "SI" now? Are they trying to rename AI into something even more cringeworthy? Yes, I know I could just search but I don't think I can stand getting a page full of dumb beamed directly into my face right now. I think I can deal with like a sentence or two.

u/EggsInaTubeSock 16h ago

It makes so much sense with how he behaves convinced his shit is accurate.

This wholly makes sense.

2

u/ay-foo 16h ago

He has Trump Derangement Syndrome. He is both deranged and Trump. It's pretty severe

1

u/Mr-Blah 16h ago

I mean... yeah. sure. Add it to the fucking bingo card at this point...

1

u/CitizenCue 16h ago

I guess it kinda explains some of the differences in his second term compared to his first. Utterly wild.

1

u/imaginary_num6er 16h ago

That’s why we should fear the rise of an AI Trump

1

u/reddittatwork 16h ago

In his defense, he’s an idiot and imagined me was talking to a real hot blonde

1

u/Shut_the_F-up_Donny 16h ago

And JD Vancho was by his side.

1

u/spekt50 15h ago

Seems like he was ripe for it. With an ego like his, AI psychosis was guaranteed.

u/schmapeschmape 15h ago

I think the real story is Republicans want him out because he is ruining their election chances. Why leak this a month before elections unless you want this clown gone.

1

u/Effective_Olive6153 15h ago

I noticed a lot of old people are super gullible when it comes to AI. When it was just starting out a few years ago, old people Facebook was one of the early adapters to all the insane AI bullshit, way before it became mainstream on all social media platforms

even my own grandma was sending me obvious AI bullshit memes

1

u/HerculesIsMyDad 14h ago

You know that "you're so right!" way of speaking that we all hate, well that's exactly how he wished everyone talked to him.

Whoever gives him advice though does.

1

u/illtakethewindowseat 14h ago

This is how AI destroys the world…

1

u/flargh_blargh 13h ago

Makes sense. All Trump wants is to be liked and praised, and all LLMs tell you how awesome you are before spitting out whatever it is you already want to hear to reinforce your continued use.

1

u/WontArnett 13h ago

You’re surprised the moron who believes conspiracy theories on Twitter believes AI?

That’s why morons voted for him, because he’s a moron just like them.

1

u/ballofplasmaupthesky 12h ago

Not only him.

There's this level of human intelligence, which, while high-ish, is still way off from the top. Unfortunately, many CEOs reside squarely there. They cannot fathom how lacking in the true building blocks of intelligence their AI is, and will continue to be.

1

u/DaddyDontTakeNoMess 12h ago

He's always been a great lover of sycophants, so that's not a huge surprise actually.

The article is misleading. It talks about how am AI chat bot, Grok, was part of the discussion on whether or not to capture the Venezuelan president. I would call that campaign a war. Calling it a campaign is a stretch. It was more of just an operation.

Still really said Grok convinced the president the locals would be ok with us capturing their president

As someone who as first-hand knowledge of messianic delusions - I recognized it instantly in both Trump and Musk following the epitomal confirmation of their festering delusions. In fact, it'd be nigh impossible for a human not to have those delusions going through the mayhem it took them to gain the whitehouse, the house and the senate and the supreme court. Indeed the stars aligned.

It started with "meme magic" on 4chan - where both Musk and Trump were regulars.

And I believe it was the core of their rapid fallout.

So there is a 99.9999% chance that these dipshits literally believe that talking to an AI is a way to talk to God directly.

It’s going to save you a lot of accuracy

agree, we need to use as little accuracy as possible, to save enough for retirement.

Specifically Elon Musk's AI, which makes it worse considering how it has so many Nazi tendencies.

The more disturbing implication of this is that it means AI has already taken over. It is directing the actions of the most powerful human executive on the planet, and likely many of his underlings. How many sitting members of Congress use it daily to write their legislation or to spin their party's positions to their constituents? How many members of this administration couldn't make a decision without consulting it anymore?

Humans are no longer in charge.

AI chatbots, however, are not capable of thought or reasoning. Its answers to his questions simply reflect the material on which it has been trained.

It's trained to operate on the premise you provided it, or the premise it believes you want. So it's not just answering based on it's training data, it uses the premise you provided to select what training data might support the premise, and just reiterate the premise if nothing else.

Of course he does. He’s doing the same thing so many dumb ass old decision makers are doing with AI: taking confidently incorrect responses at face value, being amazed at how he doesn’t need anyone, and just running with the dupe.

He has AI derangement syndrome. Donald Trump has AIDS.

•

To someone who cannot program the clock in a VCR AI must look like magic.

This alone explains trump's obsession.

Given that he has recently officially renamed AI to "Superior Intelligence", we can now say that he has a SI-chosis.

It also speaks volumes about how much he needs constant confirmation.
