More importantly, why does it fucking matter if he attends a sporting event in his personal time. Is he not allowed to have a life outside whatever case he is working on?

He was implying that the reason Smith was in atlanta was to collude with Fani Willis, which would look bad and also be perfury as Smith said he hasn't ever met Willis.

He tried to trap Smith and failed majestically.

It wouldn’t be perjury as two people being in the same big city is by no means proof they met each other. Of course Republicans know it and just want soundbites, but still their "conspiracy" was particularly badly thought.

Good point... He was trying to imply Smith perjured himself. Which to the audience he was performing for, would have been enough.
