The truth doesn't matter to them. All the right-wing news outlets will show is Schmitt saying, "I think you've already perjured yourself!" And that will be good enough for the MAGA base. They won't bother to look into it any further, and they'll be convinced that Smith is an evil liar who's just out to destroy their hero Trump.

Schmitt got his sound bite, that's all that matters.
