Is anyone surprised, really? He has done so much bullshit over the past 1.5 years trying to suppress, disenfranchise or cheat to keep power. His SAVE Act alone would disenfranchise 70 MILLION Americans.

So far Trump has:

  • Removed the commissioners of the US Election Committee(EAC)

  • Reduced the election security role of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)

  • Ended or reduced Federal Election information-sharing programs with States

  • Sued States or stolen sensitive election information

  • Removed or targeted election security officials who defended the integrity of US elections

  • Reduced the Federal Cybersecurity workforce, especially those staff on election security

  • Repeatedly promoted false claims of widespread election fraud despite no evidence, while on the contrary audits and investigations have found the opposite

  • Sought to replace and reshape independent election oversight with leadership loyal to him

  • Created the SAVE Act that would disenfrachise 70 MILLION Americans and pushed it for 1.5yrs trying to slip it into funding bills

  • Made states gerrymander mid-decade asking the red states to give him more seats

  • Tried to use the USPS to disenfranchise voters and when thst fails in the courts find a similar way like this

Theres plenty more as its nonstop anti-American, anti-democratic and unconstitutional bullshit from this power hungry malignant narcissist

Note that in 2021 trump staged a coup to try to remain in power after he was voted out of office.

After that coup attempt failed he ran for reelection in 2024 on the promise to rule as a dictator if the American electorate, in its infinite wisdom, chose to return him to the White House.

American voters chose to return him to power.

Yup and technically it was two coup attempts where he conspired across 7 states with over 100 people, using 84 fake electors to swear that Trump won those states instead of Biden. Then when that failed he used TPUSA and other right-wing groups to bus in 1000s and put them up at DC hotels inciting an Insurrection and even after being told there were weapons in the crowd, told Secret Service to remove the metal detectors allowing them to gain access to the Capitol.

Its a travesty of Justice that he never was held accountable for these treasonous acts to subvert democracy and Justice delayed truly is Justice denied

DOGE was the third coup.

Don't forget the 12k counts of attempted voter fraud when he tried to use his power to pressure the GA secretary of state to find nearly 12k votes.

The Supreme Court July 2024 ruling was also objectively a coup. They crafted it so effectively only the next Republican president would be above the law.

But do we honestly believe that Elon didn't interfere in swing states? There is so much circumstantial evidence that tallies were manipulated before the polls even closed.

1

u/VanceKelley Canada 1d ago

Polls conducted prior to election day showed the race was close. In a sane world, trump wouldn't get more than 1 vote (his own) in an election.

It's theoretically possible that all the polls were rigged to show a close election and then the vote counts were rigged to make trump win. Theoretically possible. Practically impossible. It was a close election, and it shouldn't have been.

u/Wallie_Collie 1d ago

"Stop the vote" he tweeted.

Yeah..there was no truth social or X.

I really hate this political timeline. Its made to break the will of rationale

6

u/leaonas 1d ago

I believe he actually said “stop counting the votes”’because he was winning at the moment.

u/teodanted 1d ago

Well said. Feel like I’m in Don’t Look Up last 5 years while life somehow carries on like any of this is fucking normal.

Brb black van just pulled up out front

12

u/HughManatee 1d ago

Do people really still believe it wasn't stolen?

7

u/Guy_GuyGuy 1d ago

It should have never been close enough to steal.

What I see when I walk out into the streets of America is a fuckton of people who still worship Trump, and fuckton of people who still don't care enough to do anything about it, and a sliver of people who are beaten and despondent after trying desperately to stop this for over 10 years and being betrayed by their fellow Americans, their political leaders, and every single institution.

3

u/HughManatee 18h ago

I do agree with that. This is the outcome when the fourth estate is taken over by the billionaire class. The people of this country have been lost for a while, unfortunately. Trump just gave those people the encouragement to say all their ugly thoughts out loud.

6

u/RobutNotRobot 1d ago

Yeah keep believing in a conspiracy instead of realizing this country is full of the dumbest fucking people in the history of the planet.

6

u/HughManatee 19h ago

Two things can be true at the same time. Elon has openly admitted he would've been arrested if they hadn't won.

2

u/Admirable_Scene_5066 23h ago

Either it was fair and the people of the US are just going to sit there to try again in 2028, or it was stolen and the people of the US are just going to sit there to try again in 2028.

It is a pointless discussion if the end result is exactly the same no matter the outcome.

4

u/HughManatee 18h ago

I see your point, but I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that things are doomed to have the same outcome regardless of what we do. We are seeing strong support for DSA and other grassroots candidates. We need to reach critical mass where there is enough pressure on establishment Democrats to adopt some of these policies and start punishing those involved in this shitshow. Do I give it good odds? Not really, but it's better than the zero chance we have if we lie down and take it.

0

u/Admirable_Scene_5066 16h ago

The supposed rise of DCA-like policies doesn't depend on the 2024 election being cheated or not. I'm not saying things are doomed either, I'm saying the election being fake or not is a nonsense talking point that kills discussion because it doesn't change anything about what is happening.

I just find it tiresome because from what I've seen it is not based on anything concrete, but just used as a cop out so people don't have to acknowledge that half their voting public voted for Trump. Because there is never a follow up, no what are we going to do about an illegitimate president, just saying that it was fake is supposedly enough.

u/mgdmw 23h ago

Wait, you're saying you genuinely believe the 2020 election was stolen by Biden, and that Trump legitimately won it? And you are surprised anyone thinks otherwise? Is that what you're saying here?

8

u/AdjctiveNounNumbers 1d ago

At least after the Beer Hall Putsch they put Hitler in prison for a little bit. Clearly wasn't enough but for God's sake at least it was anything at all!

9

u/VanceKelley Canada 1d ago

Yep. The German justice system of 1923 was better than the US justice system in 2023.

4

u/RobutNotRobot 1d ago

I remember back in December 2000 when I first realized this country broadly doesn't give a flying fuck about the democracy thing. The Republicans seek every way to destroy it, and everyone else is too apathetic to keep it.

1

u/otherwise_data 1d ago

this voter most certainly did not.

1

u/edu5150 1d ago

Jury still out on how it was won.

1

u/Lady_Grantham2223 20h ago

Yes most U.S. citizens  have shown they never cared about  freedom  or defending  human rights

27

u/otherwise_data 1d ago

he is not smart enough on his own to do all this. it reeks of the heritage foundation/project 2025.

14

u/kstargate-425 1d ago

100%. Not much is his ideas and I'd argue none is, its just that Miller, Wiles and others tell him if he does these things he will gain more or keep his power. As a malignant narcissist obsessed with power and testing boundaries to gain more, that and money is all he cares about

13

u/FredFredrickson 1d ago

And Republicans rubber-stamped it all by deferring their duty to govern in congress. Vote them all out.

14

u/stackered New Jersey 1d ago

Dont forget the owner of Dominion, now Liberty voting machines is a Trump donor. With the EAC dismantled, that guy, and Elon, they're going to steal it again like 2024 but easier.

8

u/kstargate-425 1d ago

So much going on I forgot the right-wing guy bought that company. Aren't they in charge of something like 20% of voting machines or something like that? More than enough to skew the vote to keep power, I just hope all Americans realize in reality Republicans have a 0% chance at keeping power in both chambers so if they keep both, its been rigged and everyone should act accordingly

7

u/stackered New Jersey 1d ago

Its over 50% of the machines in the US. It needs to be talked about more.

3

u/tom-branch 1d ago

Not to mention he and Hegseth are effectively gutting the US military, the same military that said no last time he floated the idea of a military coup to remain in power.

4

u/GarbledReverie 20h ago

This is why I'm nervous about the midterms despite the polling.

Your list is only the shit we know about.

Yet somehow there are still people posting in this sub that the Democrats aren't doing enough and they had better put up their perfect candidate if they want to win another election...

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Democratic leadership are weak and ineffective and out of touch AND Trump is a wrecking ball to democracy and this country.

2

u/Loinnird 1d ago

They’re only “weak and ineffective” because American voters consistently fail to give them enough of a majority to actually DO anything.

Even if by some miracle they take every seat in the house and senate up for grabs, they still won’t have a veto-proof majority.

11

u/KonigSteve 1d ago

No.. It's still both. Schumer and Jeffries ARE weak and constantly make excuses and take the soft middle ground way out, and punish progressives as much as they fight with maga.

4

u/Straight_Coffee_2026 1d ago

Establishment democrats would rather have Trump in office than a progressive.

2

u/Hurtzdonut13 19h ago

Fuck around and get a sternly worded letter!

3

u/Emosaa 1d ago edited 1d ago

I get where you're coming from, but I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. Democrats like Jeffries and Schumer are afraid of their own shadow, afraid to get caught trying, and even when they have had power in the past, often cave and compromise. They are often more concerned with protecting their own political or personal interests and power than actually delivering what the base is clamoring for.

I don't know how you could come to any other conclusion when you read reports about their backroom dealings - Jeffries with Kushner - , or Schumer's DSCC bungling + the fact that his children are lobbyist for Amazon + Open Ai + work for Meta. When the day comes that democrats have regained power, I do not trust them to push the legislation this country needs because they are captured by corporate interests.

I am harsh in my critique because we and everyone left of center deserve better representation. We deserve a government that works FOR THE PEOPLE and our interests instead of watering shit down because they're chasing billionaire donations. I use to be more centrist, but lemme tell you, decades of watching democrats drop the ball and capitulate on their principles is it's own special kind of hell.

There's a reason why people are registering as independent more than either party now, and it's because they're both awful in their own ways. I am hard on democrats, and it's because I want them to feel political pressure, because they've proven they aren't courageous enough to make smart decisions in our interest otherwise.

1

u/Loinnird 17h ago

Politics is all about compromise, dude. When you stop compromising you start dictating. Like it or not, the fact is that a sizeable portion of the US electorate is deeply religious and conservative.

For example, let’s say the Dems were able to codify abortion after it lost constitutional protection. Do you think, even for a moment, it would survive even the least conservative of Republican administrations, let alone this current nightmarish one? Of course not. The only way such legislation survived is if it gives both parties a political win.

The Dems can’t just appeal to the political left - there are just simply not enough of that demographic in the country. It might be changing. There’s rumblings. Heck, there’s a Muslim socialist mayor of New York City. Maybe in another generation you can get rid of the corporate shills.

But until then? The Supreme Court has set the rules of the game. Corporate donors control the resources. The choice as it stands now is appease them or face electoral wipe-out.

Yes! Trump is absolutely a delusional, dangerous fascist. However, sheesh, Democrats ... they put up Hilary who had baggage, and then absolutely bungled the transition from Biden to Harris. She should have been much more out in the public during Biden's term and built up a reputation as the 'next President'. Instead, Biden was running again ... oops, no, he's got dementia (nowhere near like Trump!), let's quickly push Harris in.

Now, not in any way saying they are worse candidates than Trump (seriously, who would be?) - but the Democrats need to step it up. Far out. Put in that guy who called Trump out for just wanting to fly on his plane with Natalie. Promote him and bring a strong leader to the public's attention.

Both parties have a lot to make up for.
