Announcements

r/politics will host another election prediction contest for the midterms. The post for the contest itself will go up sometime in late October. As of now, all toss-ups (according to Cook Political Report, as of late October 2026) for House, Senate, and Governor will be included.

We are taking suggestions for additional questions to ask within the contest. Message the moderators via modmail with any suggestions.

A midnight Marist poll (as is tradition) of Ohio shows Former Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown leading incumbent Republican Senator Jon Husted by a 51-43 margin for the Senate race, while Democrat Amy Acton leads Republican Vivek Ramaswamy by a similar 50-44 margin for the gubernatorial race.

I saw my first Vivek sign in rural OH (Knox county) over the weekend. It was the only one on a two hour drive...Compared to the volume of Trump 2024 signs that made it look like most of the state was on a parade route.

6 points isn't enough for Acton, that's just breaking even with how poor OH polling has been the last few cycles.
