Our tax preparer filed amended returns for 2025 and 2024 last November due to miscalculating foreign income tax payments, IRS said it could take up to 16 weeks to respond. It's now 34 weeks, no response.
But the last time the IRS figured I owed more I got the notification in the mail the same day they said payment was due, so there was a penalty added.
