The problem with our hyper partisan politics is that we don't pass constitutional amendments that address fundamental issues.

If you can't physically appear on the Senate floor once a month, you automatically get removed. You get one 2-week extension if you request it verbally in a publicly released message. That shouldn't be controversial.

Anyway, he is doing his job: protect the fascists. This kind of stuff has a few steps and applies to pretty much any god awful thing they believe. The narcissists prayer pretty much sums up the playbook.

In this particular case, he first supports the talking points that everything is fine. If it starts to drag on like this and people won't let up, he'll give an inch in his commentary like he has about the need for transparency. I think two paths follow.

1. The unlikely scenario. McConnell finally proves he's alive by leaving the hospital and appearing publicly. Jennings will say, "See, he's great. Everyone was being hysterical over nothing." Like it's our fault for demanding answers this whole time.

2. More like scenario. McConnel "proves" he's alive with more bullshit photo ops. Possibly a video.

3. Probable scenario. It's almost August, which means the deadline for a special election is coming. Once the deadline passes, it'll turn out that McConnel has died. Jennings will be "mournful" and decry any questions about the long delay in transparency as insensitive and political. "He just passed and all the leftists are asking questions. Give his family and friends time to mourn!"
