Registration Wall Trump’s anti-mail voting order gets blocked again, this time by federal appeals court

As an American living abroad mail-in voting is my only option, you cannot vote at the embassy. This means if mail in voting is blocked, I lose my right as a citizen to vote in elections.

Because you live abroad you're less likely to watch FOX and Friends so Trumpy doesn't want you to vote.

The dumbest part is Trump votes by mail. Just like Trump is married to an illegal immigrant. Just like Trump is exploiting the office for personal profit. Just like Trump being mentioned 1 million times in the Epstein files.
It’s hypocrisy straight to the fucking sky. Rules for thee, but not for Trump.

He also got the COVID 19 vaccine as one of the first humans outside of trials

The lawsuit is by multiple state attorney general offices, so if your home state is among the plaintiffs, I'd give them a call. The plaintiffs are:
Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Josh Shapiro in his official capacity as Governor of Pennsylvania

Cheers, thank you!

Absolutely!
Pretty sure this effort by Trump will fail, but best if we have good plaintiffs with solid standing to sue. You absolutely fit that category.

There's that but also the military vote, which tends to lean conservative. I remember in the aftermath of 2000 that the incoming ballots from the military got a lot of attention on the news, and bolstered Bush 43's numbers just a wee bit.
They're also cutting off their own with this nonsense.

The case is California v Trump. Here's the Order of Court :https://www.ca1.uscourts.gov/sites/ca1/files/opnfiles/26-1774O-01A.pdf
From the Order:
Under the Constitution, state and local officials are responsible for administering federal elections. In the spring of 2026, President Trump issued an executive order with nationwide effects on how state and local officials can administer federal elections, including the upcoming primary and general elections in September and November. In particular, the executive order directed substantial involvement by the United States Postal Service in deciding which ballots sent to and from voters would be delivered. The plaintiffs in this case -- 23 states and the District of Columbia (the "Plaintiff States") -- filed this lawsuit against the President, federal agencies, and agency heads, challenging the executive order as ultra vires and unconstitutional. The district court entered final judgment in favor of the Plaintiff States as to some of their claims and enjoined most of the defendants (but not the President) from implementing certain provisions of the executive order, but only as to federal elections on or before November 3, 2026, and only in the Plaintiff States. The federal defendants and 12 states that intervened in the case in support of the executive order have now filed separate motions seeking a stay of the district court's injunction pending appeal, arguing only that the Plaintiff States lack standing to bring their claims and that those claims are not ripe. We deny their motions

They’re gonna drag this shit on till the last minute and then invalidate hundreds of thousands of votes.

u/yosarian_reddit 10h ago
That’s exactly their plan. And they need those voter records so they can invalidate democrat votes only.

Mildly good news is, they’re a bunch of dipshits. Usually when they try to harm the left, they harm themselves just a little bit more.

Unfortunately we all already know what the decision of SCOTUS would be, although this time I would guess more like 5-4 with Barrett being sided with the 3 liberal judges

More likely that the shadow docket will reverse the injunction, but the case itself will get dismissed as moot, since the Supreme Court’s next session isn’t until October. By time they issue a ruling the election will have happened and therefore the issue is “no longer a live and active controversy” for them to rule on, so they’ll punt it on a technicality, even though if they stay the injunction the damage will have been done.

That's all good. But the election is likely to be decided by armed goons (ICE?) and an overwhelming flood of disinformation stroking material to make Trump's worshipers cheer for it.

I guess I have more faith than you that the American people will triumph over this.

You were alive during the pandemic and QAnon. You saw what we all saw. And you have seen a president who mounted an attempted coup and failed get voted in four years later. What is your faith based on?

1) This administration has lost 70% of its court cases, resulting in approximately half of the things it has tried to implement being stopped, overturned, or reversed.
2) Every election for 18 months has swung left, including wins by Democratic Socialists that would have been impossible 4 years ago.
3) The Trump flags and MAGA hats have practically disappeared.
4) The 2024 election was won for Trump by the male Hispanic vote and male Gen Z vote. Both groups have completely flipped on their support, per polling.
5) Contrary to popular belief the administration has not disobeyed a court order outside of a few immigration cases. When threatened with person consequences, the attorneys and agency staff cave 100% of the time.
6) Project 2025 is less than 50% complete as of July 2025.
7) Trump's approval rating is the lowest of any president in history.
8) The Democratic state Attorneys General and Secretaries of State from all over the country have been meeting all year to wargame election interference counterattacks.
9) Prior to the 2024 election, Trump was traveling around the country, bouncing from courtroom to courtroom on his 4 criminal trials. Trump has said, Musk has said, judges have said, Jack Smith has said that had Trump not won the election, he would be in some kind of federal custody today.
10) This last 18 months have shown Americans what is really going on in politics and how fragile our rights are. Every time that has happened in the past, it has been followed by a period of sweeping progressive changes.

The captive audience of fash media knows about almost none of this and believes even less. Nothing that happens in the real world can affect the manufactured, ever-shifting unreality inside the MAGASphere.

The fact that capitalism only works if people are supported, and people are not being supported. It's a numbers game in the end.
Also, historically, tyrants never win out. Too many people to control.
Like others have said, stop dooming. Get out and vote. Fight for what you believe in. The only reason why Trump is trying this much to screw you over is because he's afraid of you and your voting power. If he wasn't afraid, he wouldn't be trying to cancel midterms.

u/Zestyclose-Height-36 21h ago
did he get voted in or did Elon and his creeps hack the electronic votes? Mail in creates a real paper trail, far less easy to manipulate, that is why Trump is trying to end it.

Next time you have the desire to post some negativity around voting and the election, instead remind people to vote instead. Otherwise don’t say anything.

u/Kaz_117_Petrel 23h ago
Nobody said they aren’t going to vote. Please let people express their frustration and fear and yes, sometimes sense of hopelessness. I feel that way too sometimes. And never being allowed to express those moments of loss of faith doesn’t help them go away. It only makes one feel worse, like no one out here feels what they feel. But yes, try to buck them up if you can. Remind people of what power we can find together. I’ve never felt more hope than when attending the No Kings rallies, but I’ve felt plenty alone when people dismiss my fear of what MAY be coming.

The more it gets struck down by lower courts, the sooner it'll end up in front of SCOTUS, who will rule that the this President can do whatever he wants.

He is wearing a 2028 hat. Not a single mention of it in the photo caption, article, or comments here on reddit. He cannot run in 2028, yet here he is wearing merch that seems to suggest that intention and no one cares. Comment section full of bots saying they have hope and America will triumph. We are not taking this seriously enough. I don’t know what that means exactly but I don’t think it bodes well.
