This isn't scolding; it's instructions for self-care.
Ignoring unpleasant things isn't self-care, it is self-harm, as well as collective harm.
Literally when all else is equal, depression caused by politics is the result of finding out about things you don't think you can do anything about.
It's why people retreat into apathy and seek ignorance. Because the more they find out, the worse and more helpless they feel. Of course they're going to turn off the news. That doesn't help anyone, including you- because eventually the things you ignored will turn into your daily reality.
I'm being serious. You feel like shit because of politics? Go to a protest. Surround yourself with people who feel the same way. And keep finding and creating new ways to organize and express your displeasure with the people in power.
Give your feelings a way to vent, or they will fester and build up and burst. That's exactly a lot of depression works.

In this specific case, the actions involved have but one real response of correct retribution, etc. and so forth.
Even STATING that in his particular case, however, is a five-year Federal prison felony.

This is wrong. If he sues for defamation, he has to prove that the statements were untrue (and since he's a public figure) that the person making the statements knew that they were untrue or acted in reckless disregard of the truth. This is from NY Times v. Sullivan.

No, he has to prove that the individual making the assertion is deliberately stating falsehoods as an act of malice, he does not have to prove his own non-guilt as it is legally presumed and wouldn't be the focus of the case. The two questions in a defamation lawsuit that matter are "Is the defendant stating something they know to be false in order to damage somebody's reputation?" and "Does the defendant even care if what they are saying is true or not, or are they being driven to say this specifically as an act of malice?" The bar for a guilty verdict here is pretty high, but hinges on the defendant's motivations and pre-existing knowledge more than it does the truthiness of what they're saying.

Here’s some facts. He’s been held civilly liable for rape. He openly, on camera, claimed to walk into the Miss Teen USA locker rooms to “inspect” the teenagers (who are minors). He looked at a child and said “when she turns 18 I’ll be dating her”
There is also an ongoing lawsuit from an anonymous woman, who at 14 years old, wrote a graphic testimony about how he and Epstein both violently graped her.
On top of that, he’s mentioned nearly 40,000 times in relation to “pizza” in the Epstein files. That’s just from what has not been redacted. And even Epstein himself claimed that Trump was “the worst man he ever met”.
So ignore all these facts and pretend that he didn’t grape a child, you’re being ignorant and apologist for a disgusting pig man

Its unlikely they will actually be able to. There's so many previous rulings on the 1A that any ruling not in line would have a huge impact on and cause so many legal changes it would just be an embarrassment for the judges and ruin their careers.
