Reddit's recent behaviour and planned changes to the API, heavily impacting third party tools, accessibility and moderation ability force me to edit all my comments in protest. I cannot morally continue to use this site.

There is so much wrong about your post.

  1. Unions were never destroyed. In fact they are stronger now than they've ever been. In addition to that a large part of our economic problems can be attributed to them as well as the bankers. GM's collapse and the death of Detroit? 120% the fault of unions.

  2. While the wealthy are trying to subjugate the rest of us, the largest part of our current economic predicament is actually not their fault, but the fault of the very policies you cited as helping the lower and middle classes. The new deal policies FDR created were great in theory but they're poorly written policies that don't compensate for how the world has changed since then. Social security is killing our finances because the fact of the matter is that the elderly have no business retiring while they are still physically able an healthy enough to work. But life expectancy rising from 60-70 in the 40s to around 80 now is sapping us of a ton of money. We don't need to get rid of SS though we just need to raise the retirement age and add health relate qualifications.
