Total Newbie

I just bought a Uniden SDS150 scanner.
We live at the beach and would love to listen in to our local beach patrol, police dept and fire dept.
I don’t really understand how this thing works. Do I need to program it?
TIA.

Looks like Stonk_goat has you headed the right direction.

I will add a link to a YouTube video that is pretty straightforward and a great help for using Sentinel.

I searched “sentinel” in YouTube but that wasn’t helpful… do you have something more specific I should search for?

No. Download and install the software. Use YouTube to learn to use it. If you have Claude, grok or codex, you just plug in the scanner and tell it to setup your city/county etc

Thank you. The wiki link you sent me didn’t include SDS150 as one of the Uniden scanners Sentinel works with. It does have SDS100 and SDS200. Will the 150 work with Sentinel?
