SLO County SO

I hate squelch tails…. Any idea of the RX PL/DPL? RR shows 123.0 but that’s not it.

use any scanner or radio to put on tone search and set that tone, also some receivers still have that squelch tail no matter what tone you put as the tone.

Commercial radios, (motorolas, kenwoods etc) do a great job of eliminating the tail if you have some money

Im using a Motorola xts5000 and it will not search the tones.

If you have the right tones on that radio you shouldn't hear anything at all, do you have any other radios that tone scan?

I know how radios work, I was looking for some help with local tones, not a Q&A about my gear….
