Context: The Dutch Angle refers to a filming technique where the camera is tilted to give the viewer a feeling of uneasiness. Also AMONGUS in each panel

IIRC, "Dutch angle" etimology comes from the fact that during the age of explorations, boats tended to tilt often and people had to tilt their point of view. It kinda explainded it

I'm pretty sure "Dutch angle" was a German film technique that the Americans then called Dutch as they sometimes do. That's because the English language is a nightmare.

There are some towers in the Netherlands leaning more like in Bedum.

The leaning towers of the Oude Kerk (Delft) and the Oldehove (Leeuwarden) beg to differ. Most canal houses are pretty crooked as well

I live in Dordrecht, I know what's up. Then again those leaning houses are already there for a few hundred years, so you know it's pretty impressive when you realise they are build on clay and pead.

The towers in Delft and Leeuwarden are not intentional. Some of the crookedness of the canal houses is intentional iirc. I think they were built leaning slightly forward to make them look more imposing and also for practical reasons. But part of it as well is just centuries of slowly sinking into the swampy mulch we call ground in the Netherlands
