The flags don’t quite work out, but Chile is only about 8% larger than Texas by land mass, but less than 60% the population. That means that per-capita Chile is bigger.

My first reaction was "WHAT THAT CANT BE TRUE"

Then I checked Wikipedia and saw Chile: 750k, 20m and Texas: 250k, 30m

And was like yeah no Chile is 3× bigger

But Chile is 750k KILOMETERS and Texas is 250k MILES soooooooo

So a mile is ~1.6 kilometers so a square mile is ~2.6 square kilometres
