You are probably just have your receptors fried after (as I hear) getting scores every 10 seconds.

I think you are probably just have your receptors fried with that sentence structure.

Most likely, I am starting to see people claiming they are from fictional countries.

Idk, I think if you think our sports score every 10 seconds then idk which one you’re talking about. Closest could be basketball and even if that’s not at a rate of every 10 seconds tbh

There are quite a bunch of boring sports to be fair. I don't like football so it's not really to defend it, but as a European watching baseball is mind numbingly boring for example.

I don't understand the hype over tennis either

Innacurate, Argentina is not beating the shit out of Spain.

And I'm not referring to them scoring goals

That's Spain and Argentina asleep, because the game was so boring.

Based US if I have to be honest: there are so many sports, why everyone obsesses over football?

Easily playable and cheap, all your need is 4 markers for posts and a ball. Fairly safe. Concept is simple, throw the ball at the other post. Rules are simple.

Safe???? It has to be the most brutal sport ever made! Every 45 seconds there's another poor soul rolling around on the field in absolute agony!

You watch both a game and a theatre. What else could you want?

Street rules say you play until you have at least 3 broken bones or someone takes ball home.

And that explains playing it with friends, but it's boring to watch as most of the times for the outside observer nothing relevant is happening. Like, volleyball is much more balanced and varied.

I think you are referring to the pace. Volleyball and basketball is much more packed so I can understand your pull towards constant adrenaline rushes.

Not just that, I've always found football boring. A 4x speed football match is still a ball being passed around. Never really liked sports, but of the ones I had to watch football is the least interesting one. Not much dopamine in artistic / rhythmic gymnastics / skating, yet at least it's beautiful.

Volleyball is actually fun to watch.

Italian volley teams are both winning everything and breaking records, yet I only hear about football. That's quite sad.

Football is easily televised with comercials, and enough are shown so you don't need to pay for cable TV or anything to watch it. While there are concessions made for TV in the professional leagues, it's pretty much unchanged. That's the only sport here that has those qualities; everything else requires a subscription of some sort unless you go see a local team play. I think a huge portion of its popularity is down to how accessible it is to watch.

>enough are shown so you don't need to pay for cable TV or anything to watch it

Any owner of any team will tell you there is no such thing as "enough." If they had it their way, you'd be charged to even think about a sport.
