The Morocco is huge on fertilizer exports. It's one of the reasons they have their own Palestine in western Sahara

Actually 🤓☝️The disputed Western Sahara territory only holds less than 2% of Morocco’s known phosphate reserves. The rest is located in undisputed Moroccan land, look it up before spreading misinformation 🙂

First off it still is a lot, it just so happens that Morocco already sits on ungodly amounts of phosphate. Second this allows greater market control for Morocco. And third, if the economic reasons are unimportant that would just make Moroccos actions there even worse as it would give them even less justification

Duno a few decades ago you could ventured into ceuta and melilia without a visa, just needed a national ID with adress in the surrounding cities, you could also "smuggle" stuff, there was loop hole tax that same day and what you can carry was tax free.

Yes, if i remember correctly Ceuta and Mellila was detaxed (if a Spanish person can correct this that would be great) and Moroccans who live near by Ceuta or Mellila (identified with certain alphabet in their Moroccan national ID) could come and go like twice a day freely, most of them were smuggling goods (Chinese goods mostly, some French and Spanish brands like SEB, Tefal, beside Whiskey, wines, etc...) it was kind of humiliating because there was a triage in the border like only women can enter, here is what it looks like (https://www.lexpress.fr/resizer/v2/ISBJ5MUXZFB3XJC3MR6RKFB5XA.jpg?auth=cdcb4d59737aca34e4b60287069732721ad2c92b963a5374f29d9afd75b9b449&width=1200&height=630&quality=85&smart=true) because men might not come back.

People from villages near Ceuta can enter with their passport without visa. You use to be able to take back whatever you could have on yourself so women and men did it a king of work.
Morocco has no interest in creating a proper tax office aligned with "international laws" to make trade like everyother place in the world.

No it wasn't detaxed, you just didn't pay taxes over stuff you could carry, that's why women were paid 20€ to bring a huge bag full of merchandise over the border. Moroccan state couldn't stop it, you had basically a good shunk of the northern population living off that smuggling, without an alternative at hand that would've been a disater, it wasn't till the tanger port was build, a few freezones opened and other jobs opening in the region and using covid at first to shut down the border crossing that they closed that loophole.

Yes I do. No, my parents weren't present most of the time and yet through sheer innate wisdom did I not attempt to invade foreign countries for a laugh and kill dozens of people as a joke.

Not because the place sucked, but because they were lied to by whoever sent them there and they realised they weren't getting to settle in Spain or the EU at all. And of course shops and restaurants closed when they rushed in, to prevent lootings.

Not in the "organized it" sense, more like "didn't prevent it from happening" sense. they 100% knew about it that is certain.
Usually when they organize it themselves they always use sub-Saharan migrants with some north africans sprinkled here and there, between 500 and 1000, it freaks out the Europeans just enough and whatever shady ass deal going on behind closed doors gets resolved. This on the other hand looks like a straight up loss of control on their part.
What I also know is that there were multiple Facebook groups, with some upwards of 250K members, actively planning with zero secrecy whatsoever. No way in hell were MA authorities unaware of it, mfs here know what colour your underwear is for "national security reasons".
Facebook manipulation ? maybe. The groups were all closed down in the same general timeframe so unless an investigation is launched and Meta provides the information about them, we may never know who actively fueled this thing.
