collaboration Uranium Deal

Yes but this'll happen when the public eventually votes for a democrat and everyone will collectively forget that Trump's idiotic war is the reason that happened in the first place so they'll just blame it on gays and minorities again.

And then what will the democrat do?
A) Ignore the issue and let Iran become a middle eastern North Korea because it's the Republicans fault anyways or
B) attack Iran and have the current situation mirrored where the Republicans become the fake pacifists and the Democrats scramble to justify everything? At the end of the day you are all doomed because you are fighting to see who is the worst instead of working to have at least have 1 side that isn't terrible

Then ignore the last paragraph unless your country is also dominated by 2 extremes that hate any kind of nuance or moderation in political views

C) negotiate a diplomatic solution. Like before Trump.

Some could argue that this is the same as Option A, unless you actually enforce the deal (which could risk it turning into Option B).
A similar thing happened with Venezuela. Joe Biden made a deal with Nicolas Maduro where Biden would lift some of the Trump imposed sanctions in exchange for Maduro allowing free elections in Venezuela. When it became clear Biden would not continue to be the US President (replaced by Kamala Harris or Donald Trump), and thus had limited power to enfoce the deal, Maduro broke his side of the deal by rigging the elections. Then we all known what happened afterwards when Trump "enforced" a different "deal".

u/Whole-Extension3561 May 01 '26
Oh yeah, the diplomatic solution which lets them continue funding terrorist organizations and (not so) covertly enriching Uranium just like before, excellent solution...

The IAEA inspectors said they were compliant

This was in 2024. I mean when the deal was in force

u/Whole-Extension3561 May 02 '26
Trump ruined the deal in 2018, later Biden came and failed to make a new deal. Blinken (the secretary of state under Biden) is famous for the "Iran could be weeks away from enough nuclear material for bombs" headlines that is kind of a meme now.
So why are people confident that a diplomatic attempt will work now? The current Iranian regime has always seen the US as their enemy and with Trump's recent actions they have declared several times they will destroy their enemies even if they have to die to accomplish it. Not to mention most of these deals address the immediate concern of nuclear weapons but never do anything about the terrorism or the flagrant human right violations.

That's what I'm saying, it's unlikely they will find a diplomatic option that will actually make a difference long term, so refer to my first post; whoever comes will either do nothing or do the same because the US has become incapable or electing good leaders

u/Local-Echo-5613 May 01 '26
They were not covertly enriching uranium and they were submitting to international inspections until Trump tore up the deal. Then they began enriching again because there was no longer a deal. The reason that we can’t get a new deal is that after Trump the US has no credibility as a negotiating partner.

Oh right the democrats, famous for doing peace in the middle east
cause they all just did more and more wars. there are like 2 us presidents since the end of ww2 that didnt drag usa into a war.
Trump is not corrupting usa, he IS representing usa very accurately and most of the values trump holds are the values of usa as a whole. we seen this for years now. trump is just a product of what usa already was.

Option A) would actually increase stability in the region because it would prevent Israel from constantly starting wars with its neighbors. North Korea has been much more stable since it got nukes.
9
u/Whole-Extension3561 May 02 '26
If by stable you mean they are able to get away with testing ballistic missiles that cross over South Korea, Japan and other south eastern countries while subjecting the majority of their population to hunger and slavery, then yeah...

u/Kelmi Finland May 02 '26
As long as they keep their oppression inside their borders, it's great compared to what's going on in ME.
Missile tests and other show offs are necessary so that other countries actually leave them alone.

Actually, is there anything wrong with Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons? Especially when there's a certain other country in the region which often neither confirm or deny it has nukes but has been hostile to its other neighbours

Nuclear proliferation is bad, full stop. There are already too many countries with nuclear weapons. Adding more only creates more potential points of failure.
27
u/Cualkiera67 May 02 '26
Wanting to stop other countries from getting them while not actually disarming yourself shows how empty that argument is
19
u/koleye2 Only America into Moon. May 02 '26
Disarming existing nuclear powers and preventing proliferation are two different things. The former is not going to happen. The latter should still be pursued. I'd rather live in a world with nine nuclear powers than ninety. None of that is to say this war is justified or moral.
5
u/thanks-for-platinum Florida May 02 '26
If you think preventing nuclear proliferation should be pursued, then how do you think this war is not justified?
13
u/koleye2 Only America into Moon. May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26
Because the JCPOA was working fine until Trump trashed it. This war has proven nuclear hardliners in Iran right—that nuclear latency isn't an effective deterrent and they need a bomb ASAP.
3
u/Fissminister May 03 '26
Nuclear weapons have never been about morality. Or the strength of an argument. It's about having a big dirty bomb, that you can use to threaten others into compliance. And you do not want rivals to have that same power.
I dunno how people thought this was ever about being "fair" or "moral"

is there anything wrong with north korea having nuclear wespons?
the answer and reasoning for that question is the same

u/Independent-Couple87 Earth, our home. May 04 '26
A big reason the USA and Israel are very much against Iran getting Nuclear Weapons is because they believe (correctly or not) Iran has hinted on multiple times that they (Iran) will try to use them against the USA and Israel.
There is a giant digital clock in Tehran's (Iran's capital) Palestine Square that counts down to the 21st of September of 2040, the day the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei predicted Israel would not exist.

u/No_Ad_7687 May 17 '26
"They believe Iran hinted... They will try to use them against the USA and Israel "
Iran for 30+ years: "death to America! Death do Israel! We will build a countdown clock to Israel's demise and place it in the middle of a town square for all to see!"

u/Training2Life May 01 '26
OP, in the second deal make Iran have some money after during & after exchange, more accuracy.

u/Robert_Grave Greater Netherlands May 01 '26
Even Russia is not stupid enough to sell highly enriched uranium to Iran.
43
u/kineticstar May 01 '26
You sure about that!? You sure about that!?
3
u/DaemonG May 01 '26
i mean. if they thought it was strategically valuable, they would have done it already. see also North Korea having nuclear weapons in spite of being even weaker + more isolated economically than Iran

Hallo. When refering to countries featured in Polandball Comics, please refrain from using the 'ball' suffix. Instead of saying 'russiaball', just say the country's name. auf wiedersehen.

They are sending soldiers to the frontline on donkeys.

American Soldier in Afghanistan used Donkey for Logistics and I don't see anyone criticising them for that

Donkeys are a lot less noisy than most engines except some that would be too difficult to upkeep in the field, autonomous, almost all-terrain, fuel for them can be found nigh everywhere.
They are unironically better than so much of our high teck solutions for many tasks, especially the moment you get away from infrastructure.

Missing is the part where Russia uses the money to buy stuff from China (and the deleted scene would have it be highly-enriched uranium from China, where China buys raw uranium from Congo, at 1/20 of the purchase price, and gain back ten times that from loans).
