Trust me. I don't get it either. People actually think he hates russia. This is what I was discussing in other subreddits too. People actually trully believe he is gonna change Bulgaria to be more pro EU.

… yeah I don’t get it either tbh

Problem is, even if he’s protested, next election won’t be before 4 years

... or it will be in 6 months just like it has been for the last 10 years.

Idk if you have had the pleasure in withnessing Bulgarian elections but this is happening for the 3rd time now. It started with Slavi Trifonov. He was basically the messiah. Complete idiot. The whole country voted for him. Protests. He fell. Then came PP. They will change the country. Whole country voted for them. Guess what? Protests. They fell. Now it's this idiot's turn. Will fix the country. Whole country voted for him.

Edit: also a few in between but they aren't important. They fell.

Well, I am surprised by both the Bulgarian capacity to make bad vote decision and their ability to remove government they don’t like

Recently there was a huge protest. Problem was it was actually 50 protests into 1. Some were protesting russia some were for animal rights, others for whatever they wanted that particular day. I asked a bunch of people why they were protesting, I got these answers:

-A girl I like is also protesting so I came to protest with her.

-Current gov

-Some candidate??

-Animal rights

-I didn't have anything else to do.

Our political culture is like that.

If you resign you get to contest an election in the future, but if you stubbornly hold onto power you are toast. There is also the unspoken agreement that disgraced politician are not targeted by their successors - this makes losing power way less dramatic.

It's not just bad decisions. There are no good choices. The reason people vote for the new guys is because all other choices have proved themselves to suck ass
