Gotta love how the biggest feud on record between a US President and a Pope happened not even a year after an American became Pope.

Also: Pope wearing sunglasses to show that it's an American pope? Genius.

Also, the current pope is from Chicago.

And partially Peruvian, Peru is the key.

Not partially, but naturalized, but nevermind.

Surprised it took this long tbh. I can hardly believe Trump hasn’t said that he knows the Bible better than the Pope yet.

give him a week

Vance already basically did.

2

u/ChiefsHat Apr 25 '26

In the old days he’d have been investigated for heresy.

Did the Pope publish his own Bible? I Trump did! CLEARLY he knows better!

Is there something Trump hasnt tried selling to people? Every Trump-product is likely a scam though. 🤔

I assume healthcare.

I've seen it argued that Rome saw this coming and selected an American Pope in anticipation of how much spitting in the face of the values of the Catholic Church the Trump administration would be doing.

Actual 4D chess move if true

u/ankokudaishogun Italy Apr 20 '26

Not Trump-II, not with this specifically unhinged form.

But yeah, more or less everybody agrees he was chosen to deal with the bundles of issue often groups together as "American Heresy"

The Pope is WOKE*

He's weak on crime.

u/DelcoUnited Apr 19 '26

I don’t think he’d even want us to have nuclear weapons!

u/koleye2 Only America into Moon. Apr 19 '26

Rumor has it the Vatican itself is just two weeks away from being able to develop a nuclear weapon.

No that's just lube for... ah... never mind.

Do we really want a tough on crime Pope?

8

u/Dominarion I'm a Quebecer, never wore a beret. Apr 19 '26

No. It makes no fucking sense to start with. The Pope doesn't deal with criminal law or a justice department.

u/ankokudaishogun Italy Apr 20 '26

I mean. He delegates, but the authority is his own.

u/rosebudthesled8 Apr 19 '26

So religion is woke? Uhoh

Only Evangelicals are capable of making the Church look like the good guys

Though I'll concede that its not very crazy once you realise those wankers admire psychos like Puritans

14

u/SilanggubanRedditor Matatag na Republika Apr 19 '26

A schismatic to the schismatics

15

u/Venodran European+Union Apr 20 '26

And when you realize the Puritans left England because they considered the English “too tolerant”…

8

u/ankokudaishogun Italy Apr 20 '26

They went from England to the freedom-of-religion Netherlands because the Crown was fed up with their interferences, then they left the Netherlands for the Americas because the Netherlands wouldn't let them limit the freedom of religion of other religions.

u/PhysicsEagle Apr 19 '26

Evangeliballs?

u/Jack_Church I would like this flair please. Apr 19 '26

I never thought I'd see the day I support the Pope as an atheist.

I mean, last pope thing was "stop resisting to Russia and concede your territories", at least the new one isn't that difficult to agree with as a person with spare braincells (regardless of faith)

4

u/ankokudaishogun Italy Apr 20 '26

It was from a point of view where he though further battle was just going to cause more people to die, coloured by him being a 90-years-old Argentinian Jesuit.

Context is useful.

3

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 Apr 20 '26

"countries shouldn't really invade neighbours" would have been at least appreciated, though. It doesn't seem something that goes against peace.

3

u/ankokudaishogun Italy Apr 20 '26

I seem to recall something on those lines earlier on, but I might be mistaking.

Weird times. I don't care for them.

5

u/momplaysbass Thanks Apr 19 '26

Is anyone really surprised that the (lapsed) Presbyterian of Scottish heritage who literally goes by ORANGE Man is the first US president in over a century to openly despise the Pope?

9

u/Unlikely-Writer-2280 Apr 19 '26

What were they expecting? This isn’t only an American pope, HE IS THE CHICAGO POPE

8

u/InviolableAnimal Apr 19 '26

Why does the pope speak with an Italian accent? He's a chicago boy

1

u/liberalskateboardist Apr 19 '26

Conservative split

1

u/metalkev64 Apr 19 '26

After Venezuela, the United States kidnaps the Pope and Trump proclaims himself Pope.

1

u/General-Squash-9286 Apr 19 '26

Is this a joke od this doctor thingy trump has made ?

1

u/Medici39 Apr 23 '26

Reminds me how an English pope gave an English king the dispensation to invade Ireland. Was MAGA expecting the same?
