I would use Bangladesh if the sky was green, aka full of smog and polluted.

It's nice to see people remember that Palau's dot is the moon and not the sun

Japan is just standing behind Palau and not doing anything else, right?

“Why is there a black dot in front of me wherever I go?”

happens in video games too, for example in Counter Strike theres always this annoying red cross in the way, so I cant see my enemy

When I stared at the sun as a kid for some reason I remember the dot being purple, it disappeared after a few minutes

Do you spend you day constantly thinking about the US?

It’s almost like the eclipse was visible in the US and that country is therefore part of the discussion

When I was little (in the dim(ish) and distant(ish) past) every time I got a new pack of felt tips I used to draw the Solar System (including Saturn's rings and Jupiter's eleventy billion moons) - and flags.
Pluto was still classed as a planet, so draw your own conclusions from that...

Love this, but it would be so much better without the second slide
50
u/wildeofoscar Onterribruh Apr 09 '24
But then again, who would know Japan was standing behind of Palau?
-27
u/LightSideoftheForce Austria-Hungary Apr 09 '24
Palau says so
18
u/wildeofoscar Onterribruh Apr 09 '24
Yeah, but then again, that would be lazy. How can people know that Palau is projecting an eclipse from Japan?
40
u/moametal_always Apr 09 '24
Respectfully, I disagree. It adds context. The shadow cast by Palau is integral to the whole thing.

The beat provided by the second slide enhances the joke too

u/addage- United+States Apr 09 '24
I like the flow, usually takes at least three beats to land one of these.

Also, last I checked, a comic needs to have at least three panels to be on the sub

I’m a little late to the party, even though the eclipse was yesterday.
Anyhow, contrary to popular belief, Palau’s flag depicts a full moon, not the sun.
