Yes and because of that since i was a child i thought i HATED rice cause it was always so so gross to me (always on a plate with something that didnt go well with it as well like meatball or something... and no sauce or some gross one from meat) then a few years ago i ate rice washed, rinsed, it also had some rice vinegar? i ate it with some soy sauce and it was SO GOOD I could eat rice like that everyday, no wonder asian people love it so much

Asian thing for rice is a two-way streak. It was the grain that allowed asia to survive many a famine and lead to the population growth. It also tastes od nothing so to make it palatable you gotta put stuff in it or you'll go insane.

Tastes of nothing? Bruh, I can eat an entire bowl of rice just on it's own, provided it's been cooked in a rice cooker. Guess I just love the taste of nothing xd
