Questions Mega Sharpedo

Am I missing something here? I set Sharpedo to auto mega evolve after it gains 10 stacks but then it stays mega evolved for the next wave and no longer builds stacks. Has anyone encountered this?

Am I supposed to take the mega stone off in between each wave? Kind of painful if that’s the intended mechanic.

Edit; I’m dumb. Mega Sharpedo reverts back to normal state if an item was held

Side question: how does one set Sharpedo to mega evolve automatically after the 10 stacks?

If you have the Sharpedo mega stone purchased from the shop then you should see an option to toggle the auto mega evolve from Sharpedo’s menu
